Tony, Hi, sorry for the delay.....
Yes, I will be taking cuts, just about the time the go 12/12 or in the first week of 12/12. If I have room, I will take cuts from every plant. The weird one, well things got weirder yet still. She's lost the three branch thingy, since being topped. But in looking at the branches on another, what do I find? Yup, three sub branches at every branch node point! I'll try and get pics in the coming week.

In the week ahead I aim to prep the flowering WarDrobe. I need to make it sterile and kill off all WPM spores and any other nasties in there. So its bleach, sandpaper and paint brush time

So I should be transferring them into their final 6.5L square pots before the next weekend. Then I usually give them 10 - 14 days to settle in, root out, and get ready for the summer-time frolics. So I guess that gives us a fix on May 20 as a possible first 12/12 day. July 22 as possible harvest? That's good, because I go to Spain at the end of June, and wont be back till early July. Mrs L won't have the harvest to do, and that's as it should be.

I've seen it before ~ its been bugging me for days to recall just exactly where and on what strain I have seen it; but today, whilst sitting in an exceptionally hot bath (up to the chin, brim full) and enjoying a luxurious shave with my new Merkur (shameless plug) .... Wham! Northern Lights, 1999 (Sensi) and Mazar, 2000 (Dutch Passion). Both plants outgrew the trait at around node seven or when going into flower. I grew disease ridden monsters in buckets back then, and didn't really have a clue! A whole room dedicated, with around 1500 watts iirc, no filter, no security! Then I found UK420, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Anyhoo-dya-do... here we go, things have been occurring, they have. Wholesale transformation of the growing environment, a major refurbishment of the PFNC flowering chamber numerale duo. Incidentally, I'm smoking C3, and my oh my, its quite strong, nicely cerberal.... but I digress. The thing is this: following the refurb', all four Ortegas were potted up into their final pots (6.5 Litre squares) full of JAB+JI. They were given an extreme dose of Granules, and watered in with a light dose of Bio-Silicon. But hey, yadda yadda, never mind the words, let's be having some photos! OK then.....



The last of these photos is the three-branched beastie. But its impossible to tell it, really. But on the third picture along from the left, she's on the back row, right hand side. Smack in the middle of the photo If you look at her in that photo and in full size, and study the main stem you will see the thee branches coming out of each node. But you do need to look at it carefully, its not overly obvious.

AnywhoHa, the plan from here is that they have ten days to settle in and get growing, as I hope to go 12/12 after said ten days But its only a plan, not a rod of iron. I also need to get a cut from each one, but the plentiful branching means that that will be no problem

They love it in there Tony, and have grown visibly since they entered the flowering WarDrobe.

I reckon flowering will commence this coming weekend. I can't let them get too tall, because height is very much an issue in my set up. After lights and fans have been considered, there is just short of four feet available to grow in, and if I take pots into account, that's about three foot plus a few Rizlas. Tight, very tight! However, if I can grow C3 in there, these Ortegas should do just nicely

One comment: The smell is very very strong! And totally delicious!

OK folks, hope you're all tick-tock today? Jolly good show! Now then, I have photographs for you all. First up, a photo taken last Sunday morning, of the Ortegas immediately following a topping session. Secondly a photograph taken last night, so there is a six day time difference between them, just six days. Incidentally, this morning they have just completed day one of flowering, I switched to 12/12 last night. So far, they are just being watered with a touch of Bio-Silicon thrown in to the mix. That will be the standard watering mixture until I feel they need nutrients adding. At which point I will knock the Bio-Silicon on the old bonce.

At the moment they are under a 250 watt MH HID. That will remain the case for about a week, maybe two or three. It all depends on my remembering to change over to a 250 HPS HID. Very dodgy, my memory ~ I wonder why?

They took a pounding yesterday, when I under-pruned and sorted out the support mesh. If stress causes hermies, I expect them to go all mental in the nuts department any time soon.... If.

She's now in her teenage period, full of herself, madly confident and insanely fit. Not bad training wise she's well sharp, and learns quickly. Thankfully she's fixated on her tennis ball ~ just a peep of it from out of my pocket and she stops dead in her tracks, whatever she's doing, turns round and comes straight at me. I've also got her pretty well fixed on a dog whistle. But she's a treat to walk, gets on well with other dogs and likes a mad argy-bargy session with anything bigger than herself. Anything smaller she bounces good and hard, but no badness in her at all.

I'll try and sort some pics out.. later on, I'm a tad rushed reet now, like.

Finally managed to get the pics sorted, they were taken at last on day 4 of 12/12, when I also got round to under-trimming and sorting the support screen. Here's the group, settling in and moving forward to flowering. Some signs of pre-flower activity, all female so far. Therefore I declare that All is well in the WarDrobes, with absolutely no sign of any male insurgents, or any lurking lady-boys. All female so far.



Remember the freak, the one with the three way nodes? Now that I've under-trimmed, you can see how she looks. Its not pretty, it may even be considered ugly, but it does show what I have been talking about. It also shows how cruelly and harshly I treat my ladies. Tweat them Woughly, centuwion.... Ahem! Sorry about that, some fool left the Silly button at "Full Tilt Bonkers, Box of Frogs land". Adjusting for seriousness, "Newscaster Drab..." yes, that should do it I think...



The picture shows the three way node structure on the main stem only, the primary (and secondary, tertiary etc) branches all show standard two-way node structure. Apart from one. Which just looked confused, so alternated with one node at a time.

I have taken cuts now, but due to space limitations in my Nursery Cabinet, I could not take clones from every one of these plants. So I took ten from the lot, then mixed them until they were all muddled together. Then I selected the two best looking ones, and ditched the rest. So I now have two "Ort.Ind" cuts rooting in pots, inside plaggy bags. And one remaining seed. So I guess that, if the the strain shows real promise, I have the future covered.

So far, a trouble free and promising grow.

Your hopes would seem to be becoming reality, Tony! Today is day 14 and I am delighted with progress so far. No sign of any issues, no WPM (fingers remaining crossed on that front) and no man bits to worry over. Stretch has been fairly minimal, so this one makes a good strain for a small WarDrobe such as many folks have. Here's the pics:


I have started feeding as plants began to show sign of requiring it, and have gone straight in at 5ml per litre water used, with my usual Plant Magic "Oldtimer Range" Bloom.

Most of the stretch has taken place during week 2 of 12/12. During week one it looked like the plants all stood still, but then suddenly at day 7 or 8, they began to go a bit more mental. Good strong Skunky smell, which is nice.
