Its cool chair!

Just wondering if I could get help with any question. This LSF has started to spread onto my trim leaves, not really the sugar leaves yet, but the very very small fan leaves all around my buds, harvesting in about 14 days I think, and was wodering if the trim is still useable in any form? Would making ice hash/edibles/iso hash help get the thc while removing the fungus, or would making edibles just help in the fact that the fungus would just get eradicated in your stomach.

Anything safe I could do with it? Smellls so lush, gave one of the bigger leaves i cut with loads of trichomes a squeeze yesterday and it smelled so fruity!

Thanks all

Morning BB,

First, i would follow OT's advice :wassnnme: and remove all infected leaf material, and give your plants a spray of essence every week till a week before harvest, you shouldn't then have any (or at least less) fungus worries come harvest.

Following my treatment above, the no name has had a few leaves that showed fungus as they developed, i have removed them and will continue daily inspections, then a 2nd spray on Friday.

I will and have been to an extent, but there are like small fan leaves next to the buds collecting thc and fungus. So if i do trim them tonight can I make edibles using them safely?
Thanks

Evening BB,

Let me put it this way, if you saw some veg in the shops with fungus on it, would you buy it, then take it home and eat it? so what do you think?

Yes true I wouldn't, but making butter would be different or no? Thanks!

I've got this exact same problem. You really have to get on top of it as OT said. I didn't realise the spores get taken out through the carbon filter. Thats reassuring really as it will obviously remove them from the room. I have tried systhane and a copper treatment and they both only worked for a short time as the fungus adapts. Cutting back the leaves has left my plants looking bald but it definitely reduces the amount of infection. I am now trying the sulphur hot box treatment which seems to help. The key is vigilance and merciless removal and cutting back of the infection so it can't spread. I haven't tried the essence but I may if the sulfume doesn't hold it. I find the fungus can't cope when the big lights get some serious growth going so my main problem is in the mother /cuttings room.

Good luck with it Burnt Bud.

I don't think you get fungus on butter.

Evening 420ists,

Reporting back on the Scotts...

Been a wee while since i applied the first dose (2 and a half weeks or so). They have had 2 more applications since and it appears so far to have made an impact. I gave them a haircut today and didn't see any obvious infection, although they were starting to look like they needed another feed, so were a little off colour.

I didn't spray again, so will give them a half feed of fish mix and let them fill out over the next week or 2 and report back... but seems to be doing the job we want.

I hope so, as i need to do a clone run in about 2 weeks time, so want to leave as much time between application and taking cuts as possible.

UPDATE:

OK, so i have now given my mum 4 applications of Scotts and 1 of Essence and it now seems to have subsided...

It goes to show, just how virulent this fungus appears to be, but for my mum at least.... i may have got on top of it at last.

The other girls are happy also:

Lesson learned...

Ventilation, air exchange and applying the right thing at the right time.... thanks to all for all the input and hopefully somebody can also save a mum from the dreaded LSF!

Regular Essence spays will continue as a preventative..
