There's been no reports so I just finished listening online to the phone in/debate to see how PR presented himself.

He was muddied, sounded a bit sloshed again and blew it at the end of his first go at airtime :D (with a judicious nudge courtesy of Eddie Nestor lol )

He wasn't braying about his position and who he leads; he seems reduced to focusing on the agenda that will ultimately facilitate big pharma. He came across poorly nevertheless. :thumbsdownsmileyanim:

It was a basic borefest.

What an utter hypocrite pinky is considering Peter borrowed his style of interaction with detractors, pinky used to call people
who saw through his scamming "aggressive trolls and liars" who were "jealous of his success" Reynolds uses the very same
rhetoric, give pinky his due he was never racist, sexist or homophobic but he was a liar and obvious scammer just the same
as Reynolds, very telling that PR arrived on the scene on pinky's back then borrowed his hard done by misunderstood activist routine
and how we should all be thankful and grateful that someone is fighting prohibition on our behalf.

All out of the same mould these people.

Derek has also learnt and adopted the same form of verbal rhetoric from PR with telling people stuff like "you don't represent anyone" or "you don't have an MP to represent you" and other such nonsense, which is solely intended to rattle the person into taking a stance of verbal self defence - as if that is in some way necessary. He was bad before, but now he's even worse. It's nothing more than an elitist and covert way of saying that they believe that they are a better campaigner, or in a better clique. There's nothing whatsoever wrong with being an individual and speaking our own minds - it's even preferable, IMO.

Had to stop listening after 7.5 minutes as Marjorie Wallace was about to stick her oar in.

at the end she paints an interesting picture of this young man who was driven psychotic by cannabis. Now he only has to sniff cannabis and he's instantly transported into a psychotic nightmare. Now I ask you is that likely to be caused by some unknown biochemical action of cannabis, or by canna-psychosis hysteria generated by just this kind of statement?

or just an overwrought adolescent, it's hardly a time of great emotional stability. Just being caught, powerless, between pleasure, guilt and parental disapproval is enough to set off a psychotic episode in an already unstable teen. We tend to forget what it's like to be a new adult with virtually no freedom but a wild excess of sometimes uncontrollable desire. Chuck deep moral confusion and hysterical mothers into the mix and the poor fucks are going to be desperate for a way of feeling justified. That can weaken your grip on reality very quickly I am sure.

I've known two sets of parents with mentally unstable adolescent children whose 'cannabis psychosis' (mild psychosis perhaps better understood as a good oldfashioned 'nervous breakdown') would be far better explained as the product of irreconcilable conflicts between parental expectations and demands, and a developing independent will with desires to match, than as mysteriously 'caused' by cannabis via some completely unproven and unobserved biochemical route yet to be discovered. I think the concept of cannabis psychosis is a very dangerous one, I think the concept itself is much more likely to cause psychosis in vulnerable adolescents than is the drug.

I mean, if loads of apparently authoritative adults started saying that wanking caused psychosis, do we really believe that we wouldn't very soon start seeing confused young wankers quite convinced that their mental instability was cauused by wanking rather than by wank-hysteria? Cannabis (like wanking) gives intense pleasure, and is surrounded by guilt promoted by hysterical moralising adults. I'm joking, kind of, but actually I do think this is an apt comparison.
