from Scotland myself.. i fish the natural minnow only for brownies.. been fishing for over 20+ years.. the thing is tho.. its not the same as it used to be.. no wonder the natural minnow was banned in Scotland.. it used to be lethal.. we used to go as far as setting up fly rood & reel.. once we got the boat out.. we would put on the spinning reel and fish the minnow
used to get plenty hehehee.. fished for Salmon a few times.. yet to catch 1 .. missed a few
fav loch... Loch Arkaig
When i 1st read this i was unsure about the minnow being totaly banned. So i put it to the fishing forum. Have a read of this. CR http://www.flyforums...d-scotland.html
hehe u opened a nice debate there fella.. just read the 13 pages.. im ston3d_247 as you are prob aware...
for some to say the minnow causes problems on there local lochs are talking nonsense.. all part of the eco system and numbers will be kept in check with predators..
Yeh man that was quite entertaining for a while, it,s amazing how people can kid there self or be misslead. I thought the comment " I think i pull a chair up and open a bottle, there,s already been some entertaining stuff said compliments of guyfromlaw
124 replies. I could just imagine the size of the fish in these so called places, i say imagine becuase i,ve neve known of it in my life. It was a stupid comment to make imo also the grayling be responsable for the salmon decline
that was just bonkers. It was a disease that was the main reason for diminished stocks of salmon in the late 60,s early 70,s afaik the the farming was another eco fuck up. A few peeps getting rich at the expense of the salmon decline, the fuckers argued for years that it was no problem. I maybe wrong on this but i,m sure all the netting stations in the estuaries have been bought up afaik the drift netting was also bought over. there,s also salmon par being stocked into various rivers up and down the country, in fairness it apears to be working. fingers crossed TCD
