All looking good mate, nice to see you around, again :)

Hope you also enjoy the new autos, sweet regards,

tommy

Thanks Tommy. Im not updating as much as id like to but I promise I will do my best to show what SS products can do. I have some feedback on the competition that I would like to send to you by PM at some stage when I get time but thats for another time. I hope I can show that the strains Im working with are vigorous and produce quality buds that tick all the right boxes. If I can do this then I think I have done my part for the competition. But its the others who put so much effort in (worm farms, anyone? LOVE it!) that really make the competiton interesting (and deserve prizes)....

And big up on the almighty Cream Caramel..I cant wait to try it..I have 4 on the go at the mo, and the auto version is one of the nicest buds I have ever sampled.

Speaking of Cream Caramel auto, here are some shots I took before harvesting there in January..sorry for the poor photos..

I cant stress how beautiful these buds smell...absolutely devine! I will be growing this again. No doubt about that. Please Sweet Seeds, hold onto these genes as best you can!

..:~ Hell's Sugar - Update 29/02/12 ~:..

TENT#1 - 600W HPS - Double White (1) ~ Green Poison (1) ~ Cream Caramel (4)

OK, so as mentioned above im in veg mode and not much to report until some buds start lookin juicy...I am however delighted to say that I have been seen bud formation from as early as day 8/9, which isnt usual for the strains Ive done in the past...its been day 21 before ive seen noticable pistil clusters on some hybrids ive grown so this makes me think these girls will finish faster than usual...

OK, I know I lose points for this but this is just the way I am..when I potted up the 4 Cream Caramel and 1 Green Poison I marked 2 of the pots, the marker started running so I said 'screw it, bud is bud' and didnt lable the rest. When I jar my bud I dont bother seperating differnt phenos or anything, strain by strain is enough to be managing in my book. But I guess this is a step too far so im hoping the ID will be easy, cause right now the one id peg as being the Green Poison is one that I marked as a CC.

So now I got I huge lanky girl which I was sure was the GP, but its the one of I labled as Cream Caramel...Shes getting huge! The most sativa like of the whole lot..is this commmon in Cream Caramel? Heres a shot if her:

Posted Image
Posted Image

Could she be a Green Poison, but swapped at birth? This is doubtful, but possible..

Here is the overall growth since last week, you can see the lanky one on the left is really getting to the top..

Posted Image

TENT#2 - 250W MH - FastBud#1 ~ Sweet Special Auto

Heres a shot of the seedlings..envirnoment is good, min temp 20c, max 29...min RH 40, max RH 75..

Posted Image

There has been some twisting on some of the leaves, both on the FastBud and SweetSpecial. I think they will grow out of this once their roots develop.

These seedlings were fully fledged sprouts when I planted then due to leaving them too long in paper towels. They seem to be doing ok though.

Posted Image

Thats all for now folks...it will be another 6 otr 7 weeks before I can get some chunky buddage out but hey, its a waitin game!

Peace :smokin:

Cheers Rabid and Astro..ya the CC are so nice theyre up there with the Blueberry I used to get from the Noon in Amsterdam ~2000..I think it was a DJ Short cut..pretty sure it was..CC is totally different but man does it taste and smell good..seriously impressive..

The FastBud will do me fine even if its not very strong..I smoke pretty much all times of the day on one day or other so I need a variation of bud to keep me in check, or not, whichever the case may be!

Not much to report at the moment so will prob be next week before I get an update in..hoopfully the autos will be showing their firs set of new nodes..

..:~ Hell's Sugar - Main Tent (Tent 1) - 600w HPS ~:..

Bloom Day 26 - DoubleWhite (1), Green Poison (1), Cream Caramel (4)

OK so no major news here. Buds have been showing for the last 2 weeks, whereas im usually used to seeing them only start around now in 'photoperiod' or regular varieties..Well around 20 days usually...In a way its taken the exciting part of seeing buds form after a long veg but I got that thrill a couple of weeks early is all I guess...so right now Im just bidding my time hoping that theyre happy and end up producing to the max.

Only photo updates really, no news other than I supercropped CreamCaramel1, the one that was lany as fukk...her main top is bent right over and hasnt risen up yet actually so she may stay down without being tied I will have to see. Probly a bad sign if she doesnt need tying down but each strain to their own and right now the s-cropping is surving its purpose so happy days.

All plants are looking lush, so I fed them plane water only tonight. I have been feeding every feed otherwise, but mostly at half-3/4 strentgh, Canna Coco A+B, Rhizotonic, Cannazym (this is more for the older bigger DWhite) and a few drops (usually ~7 drops of PH Down per 5 lts, and ~10 drop per 10lts works for me).

Temps are good at low 19c and high 28c. Low RH is ~35 and high RH ~63-67 (cant remember if meter read 63 or 67! knew its was just either side of the budrot RH threshold!)

Food/Water
Quantity: Approx 1.5L per day per plant (DoubleWhite is in 11L so get 2.5L approx)
Water from tap: PH 7.7, EC 0.02 - bubbled for over 24hrs to remove chlorine from the water (esp important for any noobs using organic setups)..
Feed: Canna Coco A+B, Canna Rhizo, Cannaym, PK 13/14 Fish Mix if needed (rarely needed)
Feed Solution Strength: this varies usualy based on 1) previous feeds i.e how long since last feed and how strong was it 2) how do they generally look. I dont follow any schedules or plans as such, but I do add a little extra Canna PK Boost around 2/3/4 weeks into flowering, but only very lightly, only once, or if twice its at least 7-10 days apart. This is so the plant has some reserves for the last few weeks of bloom when the magic happens. The last thing you want is a PK build up (or any nute build up) in the last weeks before harvest. But at the same time I dont want a plant that's used most of it's nutrient reserves by week 5 of bloom so thats why I feed at under full strenght pretty much all throughout bloom. Less so with the regular varieties (3/4 of manufacturers remcommendations is usually my limit) buts very strictly with the autos which I feed at half strength..

As a respected someone on this forum says its not the feed that gives you buds, its the environment that makes it work or not.. wise words..even if they are paraphrased!

Environment
Temp: Low 19c - HIgh 27/28c
RH: 35% - 65% approx - maybe its time to start bringing in the the dehudifier. Well, it will be a while yet, ive only started getting RH readings from my meter once again in the last few days! For the last few months it's read -- so just presumed it was shot. Then one day I put it up to my mouth, exhaled some air direct onto the sensor on the back and it seemed to start worked again.

OK photo time..im going to leave tent 2 til again cuz Im so tired, Ive only had spliff#1 (I usuallly need at least 3 before my head will turn off and I can sleep)..

Here's em all together - doesnt look proper full, but the negative pressure is surprisingly reductive towards the capacity of the tent..
Posted Image

DoubleWhite #1 no other DWs and shes way more mature that the others so theres no confusion here
Posted Image

She was topped a few times in early veg, so has a resonable canapy (it has a supreme canapy wrt the rest of the ladies in the tent :)..couple of weeks and shell be way hottter
Posted Image

Some tops...
Posted Image

CC#1 - Lankstar (havent thought of a proper name for her yet..maybe "Twix" cuz shes long tall and sweet)...
Posted Image

Some early buddage.
Posted Image

And the supercropped terminal bud on Twix, still not regaining her stature (ill have a peak now in a bit) - suits me if she stays put but is it saying something about her health that she's not springing back into line?]]

Posted Image

OK so tired, not enogh stoned, not enogh hours for sleep until work...

Hope youre all well and your plants are happy. Andmay be one day be legally be able to grow and consume a reasonable amount of weed in home or provate etc...oknow im waffling..thats SS bud for ya! hahaha...Nite all..

Opps - cant believe I cant edit that post already... :(

Under 'Nutrient Strength' I should of at least alluded to some EC values.

I guess this would sum it up for me (my base tap water stats are in post above)

1. Seedling in coco - EC .05 to .08 - Usually use Fishmix, Rhizo, and a cap of Superthrive to achieve this. I do PH it which organic heads will slate me for but let them. I am not an organic grower, but because its hard to burn plants wiht it I find it useful with seedlings. Especially Fishmix which is a good all round nute bur esp for the veg stage..

(im waffling already)

2. Nornal Feed in coco - EC 1.7

3. Super Feed in coco - EC 2.0 - 2.2

All #2 and 3 above is with CannaCoco, PK 13/14 and additives like Cannayme for breaking down old root matter.
I have a bottle of AN Carboload I must look into using.

Anyway I rarely ever go above ~2 , and to be honest, the only reason I will even feed a #3 solution is if I make a balls up in mixing the nutes and feel like they can take it!

Peace bros..hope your comp gardens are all come'in on green fat sweeet n chunky,,

Hey guys,
First off truely sorry for leaving this diary prtty much to die over the lst few months but its been beyond my control. Ive been rushing thngs so much that ive even not bothered to seperate my buds into different jars..I can def til when Im smoking doublewhite, and I think I know when Im smking the one Green Poison plant I had going, but in summary, out of the 3 strains Im very happy. Sorry I dont have pics still.

So I harvest 1 Green Poison, 1 Double White, and 3 Cream Caramel. Overall the yeild was a little diapointing. Def less than I hoped after growing SS autos and the length of veg they got. saying that, they had a very rough veg time in Winter. And, in the end, I dd harvest a nice 6 oz of bud from 4 plants, and the bud is top drawer. Bud consistency is like sugar, crumbles in your fingers like nothing ive ever had before..its almost like its made of resin crystals..

Anyway, out of the 5 CC I grew one in particular was waaay sat dominnt, so I left her an extra 2-3 weeks, and boy was she worth it..she carries the aroma that I found in the CC autos, and thats what got me hooked on CC.
Heres a pic of her..her main bigest cola is hanging in the fore front so hard to see how big she is..bt shes def the best yeilder for me...

Ill have some pics of 3 regular 12/12 photoperiod Sweet Special ladies in the coming weeks. I have managed to get myself a spare battery + charger for my camera so im back n actions photo-wise...

Theyre on ~ week 3, and buds and starting to form...3 of them under a 600w, so loads of room..they each ~1m tall, one is a little shorter/busher...pics to follow...Im not in the least upset about this little mixup, although I was lucky I had a 12/12 tent to put them into I guess..but the way I see it I got my hands on some extremely limted edition Sweet Sweeds genetics...:) Who know there may be a keeper in there although imnot one for moms/clones..

I also have 5 cream caramel autos (my honeys!) and 3 moham ram autos too...they were germd/planted into .5L pots om May1st and will be transplanted into 6L pots on May 14-17th.

Pics dueing the week :)

I feel im back to more managble numbers again, thanksfully..

I have 4 FastBud 1 reAdy to harvest - theyre very unimpressive..they remind me of Lowryder 1, or very easy auto varieties where 7-10g a plant was the norm. I expect to get 15-20g a plant from them. They are each no larger than 15-20cm. Interestingly I planted one of them in a 1L pot, the rest in 6L pots..the 1L pot plant performed almost as well as the 6L pot girls...From my experience, FB1 is a long way off from FB2 which I had great experience with and would recommend to anyone. Not sure if my experience of FB1 echos those of others FB1 adventures. Ill keep schtum til I ve cured and tasted it at least. Who knows I could be in for a surprise.... :wassnnme:

Thanks guys :smokin:

Hey UK420-ers..

Could you believe that I have ZERO recollection of posting those 2 posts above? I was about to post that pic of the sativa dominant Cream Caramel specimen that I had from before my battery died...I really gotta do something about that..feel like im becoming a right sieve-head...of well, its a proxy of having good smoke all the time`!

Anyyway, im stilll super busy...Apart from working 40hrs a week I study for exams to ultimatley make me more money (but also cuz I love tech stuff)...AND im trying to stufy for a stoopid learners driving permit...u may laugh, im 32 but hey, has to be done...I dont plan on getting a car or driving but sometime u just need to be able to drive...and when my parents get older I wanna be able to do stuff for them instead of being useless (except when im being 247 omni-system tech support of course :))

Anyone sorry for the gibberish...

Im cutting back on the nice formatting and stuff I used to use...From here on its pica and captions..if people wana know stuff they can ask me and I will gladly provide any info I can,..

FastBud 1
- So Disappointing!
Grew 4 pf these after 1) trying FB2 with excellent results and 2) watching Astronuts FB1 grow...however, these lil puppies bore no reflection of 1 or 2 :) The were as small as lowryder1 id say. 3 were potted into 6L pots of coco but the 4th, due to being short on pots, ended up getting put into in a 1L pot. The 1L plant is almost as productive as the others. 6L of soil with these girls was a waste!
The buds seem kind of airy too, but have some nice resin. I'll prob use this as 'party bud' so mates can tuck into it as they please some night we're kicking back... that or bubblebags/BHO but prehaps that's a but extreme, it's well smokeable like :) Although once trimmed Im only expecting 10-15g max per plant, which is pretty abysmal considering the time wattage and effort...
Posted Image

Seedlings - Day 9 - Picked up 5 Creme Caramel autos at my local (cuz I LOVE CC) and put down 3 Moham Ram autos courtesy of Sweet Seeds...nothing much to show here. I had them under a 150w eco light but due to lack of air movement in that space I moved them into the main then under the 6002 (I know) where ill be keeping a close eye to ensure they dont dry out or become scorched, but the distance from the bulb, osc-fan and propagation dome will hopefully keep them happy)...
Posted Image

Sweet Special - Day ???
'Not-So Autos' :) Approx 25 dys 12/12 ...maybe?
The next few shots show my 3 Sweet Specials - the photoperiod batch. Have to say I feel slightly special having these as theyre not on sale to general public, so in essence theyre limited editions! Last week I prumed them back and theyre appearance is beautiful and extremly healthy currently..almost like bamboo due to the low amount of leafs and foliage. They shots dont do them justice..

Anytime I perform less than I hope/expect I reckon it only make sense to try and sum up the reasons for any shortcomings, so to try and avoid history repeating itself as much as possible..

OK so here we go. As I mentioned befre I felt the yield on my last n batch was lower than expected. I put this down to the following reasons.

1) Overcrowding the space by not making good use of pruning/trainig technicniques - this involved topping some plants too much, leading to smaller under-developed shoots which didnt have time to grow into hard-tissue branches which could supprt buds, ultimately reducing light and airflow to the primary branches. I should of clipped away these soft tissue shoots ~3 weeks into bloom, or, left them grow longer and then tied the plant out to give space. The reason I didnt do this was down to 1) laziness and 2) space restrictions.

2) Overcrowding the space by one too many plants! This ties into #1 really. If I had made better use of pruning and or training I could perhaps of fitted in another plant, or even two.

Here's a shot of the tent before things even kicked off in 12/12:
http://www.uk420.com...mages&img=63928

Ya it looks ok, but really only the top canopy is getting good light. This would be fine for a SCROG, but I aint SCROGging or SOGing here so Im only causing problems for myself - airy buds, and higher potential for rot/mould/pests.

3) Winter conditions - unfortunately over the winter I left things get waaaaaay to bad for waaaaaay too long, without having a thermometer for most of the time. Sure, the hardly lil girls managed to get through it but vegative growth was near on stagnant for 6 weeks before/during/after the Christmas period. This was completely my fault by neglecting to put a rad in there but once I did things kicked off jungle style once again. However, Im convinced that the stress they went through in veg impacts the yield in bloom time. I figure the same for plants which have had a period of drought in their lifecycle..even if the bloom period is problem free, issues during veg, IMO, impact the potential yield of a plant. Maybe thats just me picking up on things that arent happening but hey, it keeps me from lettig myself slip when Im complaining about having to fiill that damn bucket o' water again :smokin:

Have a lend of a camera setup so will try n keep on top of things from now...I will however only post things of interest..nice shots or good development...

Peace all, Ihave a lot of catching up to do with people's diaries..its been a long long time sicne I have browsed UK420 at all but hoping to catch up with y'all soon...

til then! :guitar:

Cheers for stoppin by Nellly man... ya the sativa dom Creme Caramel is somethig special. I was pissed at first ciz O knew it meant leaving one on 12/12 only but I left anohter with it too and I can trll uou that they will knock you ocks off.

e2a as u can tell I can barely type right noe and im usually a pretty good tYPER.

Whatever I did, or maybe its just the genes to the sav dom CC, but shes a complete crusher. I need to lie down adter smoking her so maybe I left her too long but I leave a plant until all its calyxs are puffed out (with reason) so perhaps I should of done some trich investgation here. Something to add to the wish list. I have a USB microscope but its shiitt.
