Hello to all.
I have been researching a bit about what to do as to have as little waste product as possible.
I have seen Cannabis Vodka mentioned. I understand the principle is to use stems to infuse the vodka supposedly with Thc?
I would like to know if the stems need to be dried or is it best to use fresh?
If anyone has any tips or experiences of this I'd like to hear how it went.
cheers.

I made some following a method in Cervantes' book, if you need it I'll type it in. Worked quite well, I got quite into Black Russians for a while.

Here it is anyway, couldn't find this version online. The bit about removing the cholorophyll makes all the differnce imo, chlorophyll = head aches. I used the best vodka I could find.

Cannabis Tinctures
Use liquor as a solvent to dissolve resin glads into a potent cannabis potion. You can use any liquor, but the higher the percentage of alcohol, or proof, the quicker and more efficient the process. You can let the spirits evaporate so the tincture contains virtually no alcohol.
If you prefer a flavoured drink with alcohol, use Kahlua, Cointreau, Galliano, etc. Just remember, liquers contain a lower percentage of alcohol abd the extraction process takes longer.
Clean 4 ounces (112 grams) of clean cannabis leaf in about 2 quarts (about 2 litres) of lukewarm (90f/32c) water. Stir the leaf and water so they are well mixed and the leaf is wet. Keeping the leaves whole makes them easier to work with. Strain out the leaves with a colander, letting the greenish water drain into a receptacle.
This step will wash out much of the green chlorophyll.
Place the wet foliage into a bowl and cover with one quart (0.95 litres) of 80 proof alcohol of your choice. Stir the blend until the alcohol and foliage are well mixed. Make sure all the foliage is covered with alcohol. Put a lid on the bowl so the alcohol cannot evaporate, and let it sit for 48 hours.
Take the lid off the bowl, and let the mix sit uncovered for 12 hours until about half the alcohol evaporates.
Stir the brew again until it is well mixed, a pour it through a coffee filter into a receptacle. Use the coffee filter to wring all the liquid out of the leaves.
Pour the alcohol through the leaves again, and again wring out the liquid.
You will have about two cups of cannabis tincture concentrate that is ready to use. Or you can boil the mixture down to concentrate it more. The tincture will have 60% of the THC contained in the entire 4 ounces of raw material.
The tincture can be added to recipes in lieu of other liquids such as water, wine etc.
Store concentrated tinctures in a cool, dark place to avoid early degradation. Heat and light degrade tinctures quickly. Use the tincture in one to three months.
Be very careful when you drink the tincture;it is potent! The buzz is similar to eating cannabis but comes on in less time.

Bang on point.. Must be a northwest thing. Back in Liverpool we used to store up all the stems, and bud stalks , bang them in the smirnoff and wait... Leave it at least a month or as long as you dare.
When i moved down south i made a batch for the missus and her mates on Xmas and wiped them clean out.

mrs twigs makes different drinks for xmas from gin and vodka
and she just told me that if you cant afford expensive alcohol to make your drinks from
get a brita type filter and run your cheap stuff through it a few times
aparantly it makes it more palatable.

The lethal dose ratio (LD-50) for cannabis is estimated to be around 1:20,000 to 1:40,000 which means you have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 times as much cannabis as is contained in one cannabis joint to induce death. This means you would have to consume something like 1,500 lbs in 15 minutes to induce a lethal response. There are no known fatalities from the substance and it is considered non- toxic...
