Hi :hi:

So off on another big adventure here. I have loads of trim in the freezer from all the way back to 2008. Still smells sweet and herbal though. :yep: As I am a big believer in making do with the materials at hand, my recipe will be tailored to what I can find easily at a local shop.

So I bought some ghee. It comes in jars of 212 grams (7.5 oz). My organic choco chip cookies call for 1/3 cup of butter which is about 2.3 times what the jar of ghee would be good for. So as a first experiment, I'm going to use the entire jar with an ounce of trim and make two batches (dozen cookies each it says) of cookies.

Ghee/canna mix will cook for two hours, then drained and separated, with fluids going in the freezer for a quick separation. I'm hoping to cook some cookies tonight (my time) and try one later tonight.

That would have been good for your hillbilly tumbler, and then do the ghee thing

:blushing:

Well, I've just ordered some more parts for my tumbler. It ain't no ghetto machine either brother! ;) End caps will be made from food quality plastic, I'm making two drums (rough and fine sifts), and they'll have metal foil screens, not silk. :smug:

Will cost me almost as much as a commercial one. :blushing:

But an excellent idea and thank you. Once the tumbler is built, I'll give that a go! :yep:

In the tumbler with the trim, the dryness preserves the cell structure and the cold breaks the resin glands off weed g links to it somewhere, but that just involves a bubble bag and dry ice tumbling with it is next logical step
e2a that and dry ice is easier to get and cheaper over there

I thought the whole point of ghee is that it's already separated.

Seperating the water and ghee. ;) The ghee is purified. Soz for not mentioning that I was boiling everything in water. Had always thought that that was the understood way of making canna butter.

:g:

A highly intriguing idea my good fella. My thanks to you and Weed-G. :applause: Dry ice is easy and cheap over here and the idea seems feasible, especially as I will be using metal screens.

Of course it's just theory that using dry ice will do anything beneficial at all. ;) I would want to run tests but quantifying results may be a bit tricky.

Ah, my mistake. I get ghee in huge containers and I assumed you were doing it straight up.

But, does using water play any part other than just increasing the amount of weed that can be used with a certain amount of fat?

Limits the heat too 100c water boils. straight oil can get over vaporizing temp, and it also degrades the oil. Ghee is preferable over butter in that it has no dairy solids in it and it is these that go rancid not the dairy fat, I think that's the theory and it makes sense.

e2a Don't google hot buttered bhang
