Over the last week I have had at least a half dozen PM's asking me about the compost I use. Seems people get confused about this. So here we are, I use:
"J Arthur Bowers Multi Purpose Potting Compost with added John Innes"

It comes in varying sizes and is very cheap. I buy the 60L bags, and they cost around a fiver. This is what the bags all look like, regardless of size:

Having used a broad range of composts over the years, I find this one to be the best by a long long margin. I use it with Plant Magic "Oldtimer Range" (Organic) nutrients. The results can be seen in my diaries.

So here you have it people, the official PFNC endorsed compost of choice, as used by the General himself.
Go forth, buy a bag, and start a new grow.
Let's green up this little old land of ours!

And remember, the PFNC is the only Cannabis Grouping to have Normalisation as its official policy.
Vote PFNC, for a brighter, greener, more informed future.
And for the crack.

:D

Just a quick heads up for peeps... They've started stocking this at my local supermarket, errr, just thought, dunno if I can mention the name...?

It was founded by the singer from The Doors!!?! Probably... :wassnnme:

They had a load of it delivered but it was entirely sold out within a couple of day's, they're now waiting for more to come in... Looks like your soil recommendations reach far and wide Arnold!!!

Where to find JAB MP + JI.

The above mentioned supermarket.
The big DIY sheds don't seem to routinely stock it, although I've occasionally seen the smaller bags in B+Q.
Garden centres that used to go under the name Wyevales (now the Garden Centre Group) might stock the smaller bags - premium price though.

Best bet are local Independent Garden Centres - before you start trekking around your local area the manufacturers website does have a handy local stockists search function - you can search specifically for stockists of particular sized bags.

edit - thanks Arnie....

:yep:
Indeed. Them's the places to go. We have a good'un round these parts, they keep their composts under cover, not out in the rain.

Roughly how many weeks into the grow, and at what stage, do you start supplementing with nutrients?

Would you recomend the use of plant magic granules, with your jab+ji?

Arnie

Do you add anything else to that compost or do you keep it as is throughout the grow?

There's quite a few sacks in a garden centre near me but it's been kept outside so don't know if it'll be any good or worth risking? They also had seedling compost and a few others.

A lot of the time, its a matter of how long they have had it in stock, I suspect the stuff in the big shed places is non too fresh, buy as and when new pallets come in.
