Afternoon peeps, I've finally decanted the brew and ended up with 10L of concentrate. The leftover bits were put into a plastic bag
with the hope they might break down to a sludg, unfortunatly I left this outside and is now frozen solid. :yep:
The pic below is after they have been left to settle for a couple of weeks. I've just unscrewed the cap to check the smell and it
f'ing honks. :wanker: It reminds me of Vitalink's Biopak.
The next step is to start a test batch of seeds and try the brew on some of them. I'm only going to test a few Lowryder hacks at this
stage but I'm looking forward to seeing how this stuff compares to a bottled brew. The plan is to use Wastepaper, Wormcast and Coir
compost diluted 50/50 with more Coir (from fertile fibre bales). This should give a fairly light mix so the seedling should show any defs
early on. As a comparison to the home brew I'll use PM's Catalyst as I think it's just SW and no extra nuts. This is only going to be a
little trial as I'm very short of space but I hope it can show if its benificial. I intend to flower 6 plants, 2 on home brew, 2 on PM Cat and
2 without any SW. The only other feed will be Bb fishmix, this should be enough to keep them healthy and still show if the SW is making
a difference.
I'll let you peeps know when it's under way and pop a few pics in here.
Love and buds. P

p.s Just wanted to apologize for not thanking Ripthedrift for his kind offer to test the brew, sorry. Your advise is always welcome.

Hello all,

Good job Percy,

My brew is going on and my tomatoes and canna plants are loving the initial brew man. Some in flowering and some ending veging and they are all outside.

Keep on using the good stuff for free uk420ers.

I never thought the ramblings of a mad man would get such interest!!!

And to see such good examples of these brews is tremendous, only now have you started the organic journey, now your heads are in the right place :spliff: (a contradiction in terms to tokers I know) you will see a whole world open up, everything plant flower or fruit is potentially a feed for all plants, and some especially good for Canna...Seaweed is just the start, I have another thread about that ....see sig link :B):

Just as an update at where I am; I have just, or I am just finishing, to be more accurate, a grow I have been doing over our harsh winter, 2 revelations, firstly canna will grow in sub zero temps, I have had some issues over the last coupla months, and at one stage I was at about -3-5 for 2 weeks, the plants clawed, the cold locked out most of the base minerals and nutes, even from my organix, and the plants almost died.....there is a happy ending. I persevered, and at one stage to try and get the plants to take nutes I was feeding full concentrate, i.e. no water, feeds. My Spinnach concoction got to grips with the Pott defs from the cold, and the dandelion/dock dealt with the Phos issues. You will be pleased to know all plants survived, they all bear the scars of subzero growing, but they are all budding, and my loss of growth is minimum, I am well chuffed. So in short I took my organix to the edge, winter is the most difficult time for me, being in an out-building to grow, i am in just a temperate space, it stays the same all the time (55 winter and summer, making my job easy to get the temps right) however It has never been designed to take on -15/18 :)

To be fair the seaweed played a very big part in my plants survival as the essential oils and elememts also help protect the plants against excessively cold temps, the plants also got 4x the amount of seaweed they would have normally had, so the extra chelation that goes on in seaweed really helped the plants to take up what little nutrients they did, a triumph again, in my eyes anyways....

My current seaweed brew is still frozen, hahaha. Its a bit cold where I am, but that in actual fact helps the process, the freezing breaks the fibres of the seaweed down faster, and helps quicker decomposition, much the same way as feeding a worm farm frozen and thawed veg scraps, and blanching veg and freezing it works, so my seaweed will be well ready this year, as it always is, and all my discard is getting dug into the garden veg plot as soon as the ground softens lower that 10"....

The sad part is with moving house in a few weeks the growing stops, I have to rent for about 18mth while my new house is finished, and I go away to work, so just guerilla this year for me :ouch: - I will however still be mooching, just not participating, and I will still brew seaweed in a rental, I will need to more than ever, with only growing a few pots on the patio....

Top stuff fellers, love Percy's effort, ToeRag, glad you like mate, thanks for the compliments, R2D, nice one my friend, and all the others, keep the vibe alive !!!!!

Peace :)

Here Here BoB..

I love this quote from Starbud :yahoo:

Cannabis started in the sea,and researchers suggests the THC/CBD in the plant is a direct result of the plant leaving the sea for the land. :toot:

A pleasure mate, you will be suprised at what happens with a seaweed injection. Its not a bud booster, and it wont be noticeable, however your roots and healthy miro-herd will love you for it, top job mate, grab your bucket, spade & flip flops in one hand, kids in the other...go have an ice cream, and come back bounty laden...its an honourable quest :D

Hahaha, very true indeed, as it happened most life started in the sea lol, but cannabis does have that direct relative gene change due to its environment change, some might suggest that it could be a good indication of 'evolution' other think that one gene become dormant because of environment, and another gets switched on, anyways its all interesting stuff. To write this guide I was already using seaweed cos I saw some old chaps done the allotments using it, so I researched and improved, some of the stuff I have read is amazing, but in the most part wholly useless to canna growing, editing it all down from the various sources improved my knowledge even further, I urge everybody to do the same. You can grow good plants, every bid as goos as bottled fed plants, and in most cases better IMHO from stuff that free, bar a bit of time, and in the most part that time is quite pleasant time, either on the beach or in the woods, moor, heathlands etc, and a good bit of exercise without knowing ;). Don't stop now now, the journey has just begun....

Thanks for showing an interest fellers, spread the word

Peace

Nice one, can you link me up to your diary mate? Always interested in seeing other peoples efforts, especially when theres seaweed involved :)You discoveresd that Toms like seaweed then ;), they like the Pottasium for fuiting, and the gibberellins for even, healthy growth...Wait till you feed it your runner beans and or peas lol. Then you will discover it as a soil amamdment, un-decomposed, just dig it straight ino your veg patch and let nature decompose it. get it in the ground come october, by Feb/Mar the soil has absorbed it and you're ready to rock. Seaweed was a really big deal for our Edwardians and Victorians, they would collect it on the beach by the sackful, especially for their strawberries :)...

Just the link to your work remains mate, I wait with baited breath :)

Cheers.. :toot:
yeah its bloody good fun collecting seaweed the whole family gets involved
I could get it at my local beach 5 minutes away but Id rather head up the coast 3hours away with the trailer there's more of a variety and the family gets a chance to get out of town. :yep:

I went for a reddish seaweed that looks like it will brake down easy sort of like a sea lettuce.

The only variety that takes a bit long to break down is Bladderwrack, thats the stuff with the airbubbles, all seaweed is exactly the same, unfortunately vaierty in this case makes no diffrence...Red/green/brown, they all good baby :)I just suggest Kelp cause it the easiest to collect in larger amounts, the others you can be tjhere for quite a while getting enough, but whatever works for you man :), and it seems to be very well indeed :)

The link would just be a copy and paste of the address bar link, like this

http://www.uk420.com...ic=229629&st=60

And then I can copy and paste it, I found the words OK, but the pics seemed a mystery...

I am just about to move from near the sea to inland a bit, so it will be a trek for me as well now, just the excuse I need for a paddle, and an icecream eh?
