hey knobby,

I had 5 Alaskans,

3 survived, al failures though,

One of the three was very slow , but did form nice buds in the end,

Does your slow one/s have very big long fingered leaves, as mine did ?

hi sstoker thank you for your reply i will let you know over the next couple of days when i have had the chance to check im keeping my fingers crossed that some are just late developers though it is my first time with alaskan ice decided to grow them for their high thc content non realising that they werent all that stable im going to give them another 4 weeks which will make 10 weeks of flowering, i supercropped 3 weeks into flower not realising that it is best to supercrop in veg stage im also using a cooltube due to temps so i am losing lumens, all in all it has been a good learning curve though all the best with your grow, by the way can you recommend the best cheese variety that is available in seed form im a relative newbie regards kk

I got 1 of these on the go. Looks like an indica/sat hybrid. Leaves are very very long and are some where in between fat and skinny. My ones weird in the fact the colas dont join up more like random buds if you know what i mean. Sure does smell nice.

Good luck with yours KK...... spliff.gif

Hey vince666 , I wouldnt say satisfied, but i dont think i gave them a chance, it was my first grow and was plagued with mites or thrips, the only plant not adversely affected , had long leaves , was slow at flowering and i had to chop at 11 1/2 weeks , the smoke from this plant waS not strong, however the others were potent sticky and smelly, just not to my taste , too sweet, and throaty.

Saying that iv gone and finished 5 ghs trainwreck , chopping is overdue, as soon as i get time, they look good , smell of manure , except one enormous girl who smells fruity, so yahoo.gif lookin good just the smoke to prove !

eta , yes and mine were exactly that Weird, the 3 i grew out were strange, and the 2 that i threw were mutant , stripey leaves that died before reaching maturaty, i dont think i did all that bad a grow , the 5 jacky white were flawless , even with a few mite bites, so i will mostly blame ghs for now they in my bad books , but iv given them another chance with the trainwreck, at least one of those is a keeper for sure.

sorry to turn thread into ghs debate

I also didnt realise AI wasnt stable when I grew it out, of 3 seeds I got a mutant freak that got to the first set of leaves and stopped growing, the second died a little later, the third produced 4 oz off a plant sharing a 250w hps, the plant was about 3.5ft tall when finished but it didnt stop stretching ( it was grown in a scrog ) I didnt get any proper buds as such I had long branches with lots of little strands of bud, it is however extremely sticky and mine smelt of pine sap when dried. The good news is that its pretty strong, first time I smoked it I had my first whitey in years but I wouldnt suggest anyone grow it especially as theres plenty of other haze crosses out there that are more stable, if you search around theres diaries of people taking it 18wks in flower from seed and it still ending up 5ft tall.
