i bought some essence today because ive got a bit of a fungal problem

it says i need to maintain a temp of 30/35c when adding the molasses and the essence ,

what i want to know is , would it be ok to make sure the water is at the correct temp when adding the mol/essence and the let it cool as its mixing as ive no way of keeping the water at a constant temp

not 100% on this, but i think its fine down to 20c ,it just takes longer to brew
if it get too cold then i think it no good

could you sit the jug in a large bowl of warm water and change that as it cools !! :)
have you a heated propagator

for best results you need to maintain a constant 30-33oC temp for the good bits to thrive :)

Edit: 6hrs isnt long enough imo,i have had friends use at 10hrs,so i know 10hrs is good to go,i just wait the 12hrs personaly.good luck.

I use a small fishtank heater to keep it at a steady 24/26c.

also as my tank heater is to big to fit in a 1 or 2 litre container so what i do is sit my containers of water(containing molasses & essence) in a bigger container of water which holds my heater.im in the middle of making a guide but as im not applying the brew until tonight my guide wont be available until tomorrow.

You need to maintain warm temps for the bacteria to breed. Around 30 is optimum. And the longer you leave it brewing, the better.

with a bit of playing around you could probably find a spot in your house that would maintain it. like near a radiator or in an airing cupboard.

Heated prop let's the temp drop from 30 degs but then keeps it constant at about 26 ish degs for me.
This next to a radiator keeps it pretty much 30 degs all the way through the brewing process (in my house anyway...).
Prob won't need the radiator as the weather gets warmer...

i asked plant magic the same question....

"No, the innoculant does not have to be kept between 30 - 33 C. This is just an ideal temp to help the population to expand, afterall it is all living. If we as humans are cold we slow down, so in other words, the Essence will work in a warm room but may not activate as quickly as in the optimum temp Also, it is not necessary to bubble it for bang on 12 hours, don't be scared to leave it 24 hours or even 8 or 10 hours if that makes it easier, as long as it is bubbling away it should be fine. The instructions are simply only guidelines not essential step by steps "

25 is fine it's just not optimum growing conditions so the concentration, or size of colonies of bacteria will be less than it would be a 35. Or at least that is how I understand it, feel free to correct me if you know more...
