Hello Everyone!

Just been browsing through many of the threads on here about topics on autoflowering plants. I just want to get my tuppence worth in on this debate. The Lowryder has been out a few years now and since then has developed into a great cross bred vairety. NYC x AK47, Diesel x AK47, Santa maria, etc etc etc....
I know a lot of you slag them off...mainly for yeid and inferior stone.....But lets just step back and take a good look at this strain.

I actually its the best thing to come out of cannabis culture since feminised seeds. When Fem seeds became available they were really expensive and many were not stable, resulting in hermies ..etc. Over the period of the last 8-10 yrs, female seeds have become as cheap as regular seeds. Thanks to greenhouse company you can buy 5 fem seeds for as little as £16.00.....simply unheard of 10 years ago when Dutch Passion were selling 10 for around £100.

Now here we have a fairly new type of cannabis strain which incorporated the russian Ruddudalis (spelt wrong im sure) which is a hemp plant but auto flowers!! Hence why so many lowryder strains are low in thc........but give it time, like female seeds the auto flowers will soon be bigger bolder and more powerful. Were most grow no taller than 20" tall, expect to see sativas, indicas and outdoor strains autoflowering and growing to 4-6 ft tall.
Now imagine the groth of bud on that!!!
Im just saying, give it time, the seed prices wil fall and the potency will get higher.
I love them, i have very limited space, and never need to go to a dealer again, the savings i make are amazing, also not every smoke i want has to be the high, to reach all highs, im happy simply being stoned before bed!
So keep supporting auto strains, i think there amazing!!!!

ruderalis is a strain sensi seeds has made crosses with , for at least 10 years now i think

but the other statements i agree with

autoflowering is a trait to be cherished more.

it is a way to pull a top crop out of season .

autoflowerings allow you to grow all your crop outdoors= great!

only...like you said... the high just isnt there...YET:)

i wouldent mind trying some but it would have to be outdoors 20 hours of light they recon right though the grow is best if growing under lights.plus the pot space you are going to use same as growing normal plants 6 and a half litre min and they only finish a couple of weeks before you could get a normal grow finished say 3 weeks later and double or treble what you would get from autos and use less electric if growing outdoors they could be ok for a smoke while you are waiting for your main crop to finish indoors i just dont think its worth growing them.ferret

I hear ya Ferret, but with outdoor grows so many crops get stolen as they grow too big or are easy to spot from a distance. Growing autos in the ground is far easier, as its almost impossible to get noticed due to their height, ok so you only get around half an ounce (approx £70 quids worth), but in monetary terms thats alot!!!
i think auto's are the future of cannabis cultivation, ok you cant please everyone, some ppl still would rather buy regular seeds than fem's.
Anyhow each to their own!

i also hear that because autos are so small and close to the ground they are bad for rot i am not slagging them off as i haver never grown them its only what i have read.plus the seeds seem expensive if you wanted short plants that were not so hard to spot you could always take cuttings off a female plant later in the year if growing outdoors.just an idea and a lot cheaper.ferret

i think some people on here are more concerned about the auto gene being crossbred over to all kinds of strains (exactly what were talking about here)

if the gene gets crossbred it means auto bud for us, that has the potential to be much bigger and stronger (depending on strain)

on the other hand, if its done to such extent that you couldnt buy the un-auto'ed strain then all we'd have is auto crossed with everything.

though im sure people were reacting the same when femmed beans came out, so each to their own.

i myself, am doing a seed run with LR#2 at the moment (18 hours with 3 normal strains vegging, by the time lr#2's are done the veg'ed plants will be huge and ready for flower) and in the future, if i decide to, could cross some over with a low odor strain like hash passion and even get em in the greenhouse (cuz LR#2 fuckin stinks B) )

each to their own, now i need some bong hits cuz all this writings making me dizzy

they're a pointless and expensive option for indoor grows. good for outdoors in the uk though, means you can flower em during summer rather than sept/oct when the weathers just turning shit when you need it most. other than that one scenario, a waste of time
i'm not arguing, i'm just explaining why i'm right

I'm with Owderb. Things are to be avoided. They just money making toys for rich seed sellers. Nowt more. IMHO, of course.
Get a decent strain. Mother it, clone it, bobs yer lobster.

I have some AKkush on the go at the mo in a little drobe for some seed for the summer. Im reserving my judgement for when they are finished but i am quietly confident that they should be quite nice and we'll see how they get on outdoors.

I feel now that you are better off with a normal strain for indoors but if you have only the choice of the sun then i would deffinately have them as part of my arsenal with some regular plants for the proper harvest at the end of the year. The new DP autos look interesting with their purple outdoor strain but they only do fems which is a bit shit if you want seeds coz you cant clone them!
I have come to join the party that is life!

Take no notice of the nay sayers, autos are alright for people that cant commit to a long term grow, there good for outdoor garden grows and the new strains of late have a good high, some of the negative comments about autos are from people that have only tried the original lowryder that was quite frankly piss poor..

From seed to harvest in 9 weeks, whats not to like?

Hi there,
I thought I'd pipe in on this.I am doing a seed run with two Breeders Choice
Affy/Diesel Ryder and hope to get seeds. I like them for what they are. There is
a lot of people who like them and don't :spliff: My female is pretty bushy for under
4 weeks. I have regular strains goin but the Lows have there place in my book.
If I end up with good seeds, I will try them outside this summer. Anyway...
that's my two pennies worth.
