hi there,

I've got some plans book marked somewhere, i'll try and find them
also you can buy the internal bits for a round 50-60 quid and you just need to build the box and add a glass cover

Internal insulation of 20mm (3/4") thick it is deep enough to take 5 Hoffman brood frames. The depth can easily be increased by making a deeper cover

that first plan was what i was after ...something nice and simple
we've a teetering pile of supers in the garage full of old drawn comb and the sun seems to be out now!
the plan was to use the frames as they are but disease avoidance tactics dictate a new start as far as possible this year.

If the combs are ex brood, soaking them in rainwater, then crushing them flat before putting them into the extractor means more wax out, as this saturates the larval casts stopping them from absorbing the melting wax.
Tip never use tap water for processing bees wax, only rain or totally soft water.
Q. how do i make seeds?
A. You take a splinter off my cross, tie a few hairs to one end of it, dip the hairs into the pollen and lightly brush the pistils with it.
