I assume you are not using them for extraction 2 should do for air circulation (you can get similar from B&Q for about a fiver but im a tight arse) and that tent is a fairly good price and they are a good place to buy from good after sales etc. My temps go down to about 17 oC at lights of if they get to low get a tube heater not to expensive and cheap enough to run. Happy growing PS nice space fella. Nice one staion! Two it is so! Another thing, there is 2 sockets in the room, so I need to buy one of THESE bad boys? Ye you are much better of with one you should be able to run your 600w and the rest of ventilation etc of it (I am a bit thick when it comes to elec so you might be best checking with greens or wait for someone who is good with elec to post).
Greens are going to be sending you birthday cards at this rate fella its a good investment though. |

Hello again
Lucky you got so much height, the dr120 will be spot on. I'm not sure if i would bother with the primair though bud, try your fans running full speed first, might save youself some cash. I got one but i'm always on full speed anyway so i might just remove it. I'm not sure they're very good for fans, i had an intake die on me that was wired through one of them and i'm sure it was only a few months old. A contactor with more than one socket is very handy as you can plug other things that you might only want to run when the lights are on (say a fan pointing at the lights) But i wouldn't plug your extraction into it as you want that running 24/7. Just get a normal multiplug adaptor for running stuff like that if you're short on sockets. Best of luck with Bob -------------------- Just remember, you cannot polish a turd!

hey there bob, looking good mate, what we like to see a careful and considered approach. that contactor should be more than adiquate for you,
2 power outlets is brill! (i have four on mine!) makes things very safe incase of power surges and fires etc. that particular model is rated for 10amps and will work upto 2x1000w lamps at 5a each so your 600w(if thats what your gunna use?) will be fine -have you thought about 2 rooms and lights? you could veg with a 400 and bloom with a 600 and still have a load of load you could run through the contactor -------------------- ~'its not hard to be clever , but its easy to be silly!"

I'm a little worried about the noise of the fans, and I thought that getting the primair would limit the amount of time the fans would be on and therefore less noise, would that not be the case then? They seem noisy enough like and the floor and walls arent insulated. Nice one on the contactor, I'll get the two socket one so! -------------------- |

I'm gettin excited and it's not even my room !
looks great and adaptable. you could pretty much do whatever you want in there. I'd be thinking more on terms of getting a perpetual in there but it's early days yet. I know fuck all about leccy. I have a four point contacter though and it's great. was only a little more expensive than the two point so it seemed worth it. I also use surge protection adapters on everything connected to the wall socket. they are usualy kickin about in bargin bins in b+q, homebase, whatever. for a couple of quid you will save electricity in the long run and protect equipment. nice set-up mate. |

Isn't the Wilma a hydro system?
You don't need the pH meter if you're going with compost. -------------------- |

Isn't the Wilma a hydro system? You don't need the pH meter if you're going with compost. It can be used as Hydro or compost, I am going for compost. So that ph meter is a waste of money then? Do I not need it to measure how much nutes is in the reservoir? -------------------- |

Pulling up me bean bag for this one.
Used a DR120 on my last grow, and the're good. My only problem was it was just a bit too tall to fit in the loft so I ended up chopping 3 inch off the poles to get the bloody thing in. Mate... you've got shed loads of space to play around with, and I reckon in 2 or 3 grows, there will be more than 1 tent in there Loads of helpful people around here if you get problems, so don't be afraid to ask. Good luck... Burton E2a.. Make sure you shut the door behind you when you go in your room. Just noticed you've got a window in your roof, and you don't want to light the street up when your in there. good composts stabilize the ph. around nuetrel I think. It's a higher ph reading than hydro.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I have been just been trying to find if there are any wilma grow diaries using compost but I can't seem to find one
Am I mad growing in compost? The reason I am, is because I was told its better to do that for your first grow. -------------------- |

Compost for your first grow is a good call. It's much more forgiving than hydro when you make mistakes, and you will. And cheaper to set up.
You don't have a reservoir growing in compost, that's a hydro technique. The pH meter is for measuring how acid or alkaline your water is. It's important in hydro but unnecessary in compost, where the compost buffers tghe water to the correct level automatically. The device for measuring nute strength is called an EC meter. It's vital in hydro and unnecessary in compost, where you don't need to feed at all until you go 12/12, and the dosages are much more flexible. -------------------- |
