Right lads, I am in the process of kitting out my room. The room measures 13ft x 10ft, the ceiling is 4ft at the side and rises to 7ft in the centre of the room. I have insulated the roof with rockwool and have used plasterboard for the ceiling and walls. I intend on putting in a 10 pot atami wilma and 600w light, I have attached a few pics to give you an idea of what I'm up to. Any suggestions and tips would be great! I'm a first timer and am looking forward to this big time! cool.gif

is that 600w for the whole room??? rule of thumb is 40-60w/sqr foot. so you gonna need around 4000w for the whole room. unless you plan on using a small section of the room for veg. you will need 1 sqr meter for your 600w bulb. looks like you put work into your room, great job so far.

Cheers mate.

The room is big but I am only going to be putting 10 pots in the centre of the room. The rest of the room will be empty. The walls with the reflective surface are a few feet away from the plants, will this affect the how much light hits the plants?

Yes, it diminishes rapidly with distance. You would do better to have the reflective surfaces up close to the growing area. I have a couple of tall plywood boards with mylar taped to them, very useful for getting more light reflected into the growing area.

Oh shite! I may have to rethink that one. Could I drape the silver sheeting around the centre from the cieiling and tack it at both ends. Hmmmm. I'm gonna have to think this one out a little more. unsure.gif

I have two fans like the one attached below and am thinking of getting a Primair fan controller as well.

I'm now thinking of just getting a half decent tent and slapping it in the middle of the room. It would be far less hassle than going and trying to divide it up. Any recommendations for of a decent tent to put my 10 pot wilma in? cool.gif

You need to measure the usable width mate then you can see what size tent you could use. If you can fit a dr120 in then i'd use one of those with a 600. Like i say you'll need to measure 200cm up on each side and see what width you got. I can fit a 160cm high tent in my loft but your's is quite a bit bigger so it might be doable or there are some companies that do 180cm tall tent if a 200cm one won't fit.

Nice one KC! Many thanks for the reply mate.

The DR120 is the exact tent that I was looking at getting and there is enough space to fit it in the centre of the room. I was looking at getting it from HERE. Does that price seem reasonable? Also gonna get a Primair controller and I think were all set to go after that!

Thanks a mill Leepy, was following some of your stuff! That sh1t reads like a novel mate!! All ye heads on here really are inspiring! notworthy.gif

Now I wanna make sure when I get this tent that I have all the angles covered, how many of these fans should I get? Would two do me?

Another thing is, I'm a little worried about my space getting too cold when lights are out, what is the minimum temp when light are out?

Thanks all! thumbsup.gif

I assume you are not using them for extraction 2 should do for air circulation (you can get similar from B&Q for about a fiver but im a tight arse) and that tent is a fairly good price and they are a good place to buy from good after sales etc. My temps go down to about 17 oC at lights of if they get to low get a tube heater not to expensive and cheap enough to run.
Happy growing

PS nice space fella.
