Style of Grow:Hydroponic

Hi folks,

I have finally got a decent sized space at my disposal smile.gif Decided to do the planning on here rather than on scraps of paper as I have been. It always feels more confirmed when its been typed out.

This is intended to be a thread for me to document my new build with the the help of all you fantastic people out there in UK420 land.

The overall space is around 9m long, 2m high and 1.5m wide. My perfect space would be a room of around 3m long 2m high by 1.5m wide. I have a XXL tent and it is almost perfect size for the equipment I have but it would be good to have that little bit of extra space for ductwork or heating that may be needed.

I intend to split the whole lean to into 3 'rooms'. The first being accessed from the far end only with no access to the grow space. Then the grow space with a hinged wall on this side for ease of cleaning and running repairs with a smaller concealed door within that wall for day to day plant watching. The 3rd room will be accessed from this side only giving access to the electricity meter so the man can read it when he comes. The main worry here is that the hinged wall and door will have to be really stealthy.

The plan so far.

1. Build a frame of the required size.

2. Route and fix all cabling for sockets.

3. Route and fix ductwork for intake and outtake.

4. Line framework with Kingspan or a similar product, including the floor, unsure of whether to do the brick side as I thought the bricks may help to even out the temps as they absorb the heat or cold.

5. Box up the outside of the Kingspan.

6. Build stealth hinged wall and door.

7. Fill with equipment and plants and have a big spliff.

Sounds easy right pinch.gif

A lot of the details need confirming but thats why I'm here.

What would you do in that space????

Thanks for looking, any and all suggestions more than welcome.

The idea you had is similar to 2 of my recent builds (pop in and have a look 6 strain madness and tardis in this forum).
Not to sure i'd do it in that location as it's not very secure and if your room aint sealed 100% (none are believe me ) you run the risk of getting someone passing smelling your room and all the shit that would go with it !!!,i'd think long and hard ,can't you use your loft space ?,much more stealth and if you have any heat leaks they are more likely to be put down to household heat if you put your room on the chimney breast side of the house.
As i said pop into 6 strain madness or tardis and see what can be achieved in a small otr big way in your loft !!!.
Goodluck anyway gangreen

Thanks for the feedback folks,

Richy12345 It does lead to outside mate but its outside that is on the bottom of my driveway on a side away from my front door so no-one will go any where near it. Also as I will be dividing the space there will be another wall between the grow and that outside door, thanks for the concern though mate.

Randalizer Thanks bud, I hope it turns out as good as I imagine smile.gif

GANGREEN I will have a nose at your threads later mate, thanks. As for people passing, the position of my house is such that no-one will be within 5 or 6 meters of the space so hopefully no audible noise leaks and the room will (although as you say it won't be 100% sealed) be under negative pressure so no smell leaks wink1.gif The heat will be extracted through a vent next to the heating outlet so that should appear normal enough.

leepy ***insert vulgar 'mom' joke here.*** 13.gif

Noway It is the electric meter mate, it will be outside the grow room and amongst general shed type junk so will be accessible as needed by the electric reader man. Although I will have to make excuses as to why the side gate is locked and show him/her through the house to come in from the back. Not a problem, our house is straight head safe. wink1.gif

I am planning on starting routing the electrics today or tomorrow, I will run a ring main from a spare 20A fuse within the consumer unit, hopefully that will be plenty for 2 X 600w lights and the all the other regular equipment?

It B&Q time, laters spliff.gif
