I had been thinking about growing my own for about 4 weeks, umming & ahhing i couldn't make my mind up,anyway to cut a long story short a friend of mine rescued five plants after a visit by officer Dibble, so now i'm thinking Shit this is bud karma now my mind is made up i can practice on these. I know what you're thinking what if those plants are males well i've kept my eye on them and so far so good, Well i know it's frowned upon by some people (not knowing what they are) but nothing ventured nothing gained. So i began lurking on 420... ph34r.gif
It soon became obvious that all the information you will ever need is here. After a few weeks of research i finally felt confident ( that i knew what i needed to get)enough to go and buy supplies, bearing in mind that these girls (touch wood) had been outside for nearly 3 weeks and my house for 1 week while i collected what i needed. yahoo.gif

Finally the Budbox setup - Temps were 30-35, humidity was 30 -14 days doh.gif

Temps were sky high, so changed from a 600w to a 400w, added a 5'' fan to the intake wink1.gif

ok so now my temps are between 24-29, humidity 49%, lights on 24/7, ionic grow 1ml per litre. So far so good, anyways if your thinking about doing a grow go ahead do your research, get to know the search button. You're in the right place if you decide to go ahead; and to the more experienced growers feel free if you want to give me any advice.

Hi Buddy,
Firstly they are looking very nice.
How long are you planning on vegging for? Are they from seed or clones?
Its a shame the 600w was too hot especially in a cooltube, is there no way round it? I cant quite make out your ducting set up - these old eyes aint what they used to be sad.gif

I wish you all the best and will keep my eyes semi focused on your grow.

I want to veg em' 24'' + at least, currently the tallest is 15''.
not sure if they are from clones or from seed, but knowing the scale of setup that they were from i would hazzard a guess that they are from clones.
I'm gonna put the 600w back in a few weeks
Ducting setup filter -fan-cooltube-out of top in/outtake

Hello there, nice setup you have, all the right equipment for the job thumbsup.gif

Try to keep ducting as straight as possible, i know it's difficult when using a cooltube etc but it really does affect airflow somewhat pinch.gif

As for vegging them to at least 24"....it would be ok if you knew the plant but not knowing how much it's going to stretch by i think you'd be taking quite a big risk. Some strains can triple in height easily enough (sativas even more). Personally i wouldn't veg them that big, they could soon outgrow your tent pinch.gif

All the best with the grow Buddy Love

I'd say 18inches, that way if they do stretch quite a bit (3X) you should still be ok for height. I don't like to let plants get too tall as i only use 400watt lamps and they don't penetrate as far into the canopy so the lower foliage gets no light. I personally like to keep plants under 3 foot myself.

I think once winter comes you may just be better losing the cooltube and replacing it with a standard reflector...they give much better light spread wink.gif

nice grow mate

your temps would be cooler if the length of ducting between the reflector and the fan was as short as possible. keep the CF close aswell.

maybe it would be better if the fan was on the other side of the reflector? try it! see what works best before they start to smell

if you manage to get the temps down you can get the cooltube alot closer than 18 inches
i have an aircooled reflector and some plants are nearly touching the glass, and they love it.

ello m8, shame ya temps to high for ya 600, i run a 600 cooltube setup in a budbox 1x1x2m, after much playing around i managed to get temps right down, can get the cooltube within a foot of the tops, even when it was 28-29*c here a little while ago my room temps never went above 30, average temps 25-26*C lights on, if ya want il post a couple of piccies tomorrow when lights come on for you to see how ive done mine?
