Hi all, I'm concerned about light getting into my grow room from the intake hole. What is the best thing to use to make sure no light is getting in? that will cover the intake without constricting air flow.
I had thought about buying some curtains to hang above my window to make the room pitch black but I thought I'd ask first and see if there is a more cost effective alterative. -------------------- Grow room space (4.15 sq meters)

I have a passive intake me too, i have 4 and if i put a fag just by the intake i can see the smoke being pulled in, so it works ok -------------------- "I don't want to f**king give the United States government one f**king dollar of taxes. or you could cover the intake with 2 layers of kitchen cooker hood material, no building involved just cover the intake hole and tape or staple it in place, plusits carbon so it helps with nasty niffs too

Do 90 degree bends in the ducting and an inline fan help to stop light coming through an intake?

I just popped some green scouring pads (16 altogether, 4 layers deep, taped at the joins) onto the inside face of my passive intake this morning. seems to be lightproof and still maintains the airflow as far as i can tell. not 100% sure about them though as it's only an experiment, so the diy buffer might be your best option. Could do both even

There is a link in my sig that may help MrX Seems bloody hard work doing all that. I just put some cooker hood filter over my passive intakes. Also have a 120mm intake fan with filter covering it, for the summer temps. All works perfectly. E2A: If using passive intakes, make them 5-7 times bigger than the extraction This post has been edited by Jim_jim: Mar 6 2008, 03:06 PM |

Do you have a set of bubble bags ?
If so these are ideal as they usually have a small 70micron bag which no bug will get through, just pop it over the end of your intake pipe and pull the draw cord tight, easy to kepp clean as well. e2a: sorry thought you were trying to screen your intake not light block it.
