Alright guys,
I`ve been asked a few times about my growroom and it`s workings so I thought I`d post some pics and info seeing as it`s just had a good clean out. Plus I`ve now got 12 days off work so I`ve plenty of time My flower room, or cupboard I built in my bedroom by building a false wall up one side of the room. My bedroom was large and my growroom used to be small so I kind of met in the middle The room dimensions are approx just under 3ft wide, 8ft long and about 8ft high. These pics are about 12 months old but everything is identical as it is now except I`ve got diamond reflective sheeting instead of mylar these days. Lighting is 2x600w Lumnitek digi`s with hps bulbs and (not so) mini Grostar reflectors. The lights are hung using nylon washing line which is threaded through hooks and eyes and tied up to fittings which you use to hold curtain tie backs. It works really well and I can adjust the height of both lights independently from right in front of me when I open the door For ventilation I have a TD800 for extraction straight into the loft, a TD350 for intake and 2 oscillating fans. A small one between the lights blowing down and a large one blowing across th canopy. I adjust the height of it as the plants grow by just unscrewing the eye hook that it hangs from and then just screwing it back in further up the beam. The floor is lined with the stuff used for tanking cellars and is as waterproof as it gets and has enough of a lip on it to hold my res a few times over, handy when you live in a first floor flat I grow in rockwool as you know using 6 slabs which sit on a framework which dips to the centre where the run off drips into guttering and drains back into the res. The res holds 100ltrs with room to spare (£20 from B&Q The dripper setup runs under my trays and I`ve tied it to some bamboo canes to keep it straight, and there`s 5 drippers to each slab. 3 for the plants and 2 go in between then straight into the slabs, these are fastened a little tighter I`ve also just bought an adjustable ozone generator suitable for areas as low as 10 cubic meters so it should be fine in my growroom. They`re supposed to help against mould as well as the smell, we`ll soon see because I`ve always got a bud or two with budrot at the end. I wonder if they`d help against LSF? I think that about covers things! Burns -------------------- |

Sweet space, if I was in my own place i'd go down the fake wall route.
I adjust the height of it as the plants grow by just unscrewing the eye hook that it hangs from and then just screwing it back in further up the beam. Would it be any easier getting a few more hooks in there and just moving it from hook to hook? |

Hi Stonehenge,
Thanks for the kind words mate Alright withnail mate, Now that would be my dream job, building growrooms for a living and I`d do it if I could but would you trust me to come and do yours! Hey redeyes420, Cheers pal. The ozone generator is on constantly on it`s lowest setting at the moment and all the fans are on 24/7 Hi welly, The main reason I built it in the first place is because I have a son (who stays at weekends) he`s now 4 and hasn`t ever seen or suspected a thing, plus it`s a council flat scarface, the mrs and leepy, Cheers for you comments, much appreciated. Hi bazza, It took a day to build the false wall and a couple of days to get all of the decorating done, and the room and setup has been in the making for a few years now Alright brad, I used to combat the smell just by venting into the loft Cheers all, Burns This post has been edited by Burns: Dec 21 2007, 06:21 PM -------------------- |

Close but no cigar redeyes mate
As for the ozone generator, the test strips haven`t picked anything up at all with it on it`s lowest setting which means it`s concentration is lower than 40 P.P.B (parts per billion). So I`m going to leave it as it is for now and I`ll probably turn it up once in flower, unless of course I can`t smell anything Burns -------------------- |

hey bro.. So cool to see the 'inner workings' of your grow space.. I always expected it to be so much bigger from the pics ...Man - 32oz from the space you have it simply amazing.. and you said you have had bigger yeilds..
I see what you mean about loosing alot of space to the Timber Frame - Would be cool if you could get a low profile rez and like you said possibly try some sativa's etc.. I think alot should and will learn from your grow room and if they use the (KISS - keep it simple stupid) they will all be laughing Btw what ozone generator are you using? they sound alot more cost effective then using carbon filters and etc.. Anyways bro.. thanks for sharing. Psy -------------------- |
