Alright guys,
I`ve been asked a few times about my growroom and it`s workings so I thought I`d post some pics and info seeing as it`s just had a good clean out. Plus I`ve now got 12 days off work so I`ve plenty of time yahoo.gif . Right where do I start...
My flower room, or cupboard I built in my bedroom by building a false wall up one side of the room. My bedroom was large and my growroom used to be small so I kind of met in the middle rofl.gif . So a mate threw up some studding and plasterboard and I decorated and added some coving to make it look like it should be there then I threw my wardrobe onto a set of castor's (that was a fucking mission and the wardrobe is now doing it`s best impression of the leaning tower of pisa rofl.gif ) , and there we have it, a hidden growroom wink1.gif
The room dimensions are approx just under 3ft wide, 8ft long and about 8ft high.

These pics are about 12 months old but everything is identical as it is now except I`ve got diamond reflective sheeting instead of mylar these days.

Lighting is 2x600w Lumnitek digi`s with hps bulbs and (not so) mini Grostar reflectors. The lights are hung using nylon washing line which is threaded through hooks and eyes and tied up to fittings which you use to hold curtain tie backs. It works really well and I can adjust the height of both lights independently from right in front of me when I open the door wink1.gif.

For ventilation I have a TD800 for extraction straight into the loft, a TD350 for intake and 2 oscillating fans. A small one between the lights blowing down and a large one blowing across th canopy. I adjust the height of it as the plants grow by just unscrewing the eye hook that it hangs from and then just screwing it back in further up the beam.
The floor is lined with the stuff used for tanking cellars and is as waterproof as it gets and has enough of a lip on it to hold my res a few times over, handy when you live in a first floor flat rofl.gif .

I grow in rockwool as you know using 6 slabs which sit on a framework which dips to the centre where the run off drips into guttering and drains back into the res. The res holds 100ltrs with room to spare (£20 from B&Q wink1.gif ) and is just a plastic water tank which has had a few few bits cut out to accommodate the drippers. In the res are 4 airstones and two pumps, one for the drippers and one just to pump the solution around.
The dripper setup runs under my trays and I`ve tied it to some bamboo canes to keep it straight, and there`s 5 drippers to each slab. 3 for the plants and 2 go in between then straight into the slabs, these are fastened a little tighter wink1.gif. What you can`t see in the pics below is that under the guttering in the middle there is tubing joining the two main lengths. This is where it is connected to the pump in the res and makes sure the water pressure is as even as can be.

I`ve also just bought an adjustable ozone generator suitable for areas as low as 10 cubic meters so it should be fine in my growroom. They`re supposed to help against mould as well as the smell, we`ll soon see because I`ve always got a bud or two with budrot at the end. I wonder if they`d help against LSF? unsure.gif

I think that about covers things! rofl.gif I`ll give a run down on my veg room when I get a chance. This weed I`m smoking doesn`t half make me ramble rofl.gif

Would it be any easier getting a few more hooks in there and just moving it from hook to hook?

Hi Stonehenge,
Thanks for the kind words mate wink1.gif. I have trouble explaining my room myself, thats the main reason I posted, to show what exactly goes on underneath the slabs what you don`t see. Like a duck on water all is peaceful above but a little hectic below! rofl.gif

Alright withnail mate,
Now that would be my dream job, building growrooms for a living and I`d do it if I could but would you trust me to come and do yours! rofl.gif It`s a shame we have to hide it from the world not knowing who we can and cannot trust 34.gif . Maybe one day day eh wink1.gif.

Hey redeyes420,
Cheers pal. The ozone generator is on constantly on it`s lowest setting at the moment and all the fans are on 24/7 wink1.gif. I know what you mean though, safety first so I`ve been out and bought some ozone test strips and I`ve hung one in my growroom and one in my bedroom. I`ve just got to wait an hour now for the results. I don`t think it will be a problem in my bedroom though with all the air being sucked through it, I can`t slam my bedroom door shut I know that! rofl.gif

Hi welly,
The main reason I built it in the first place is because I have a son (who stays at weekends) he`s now 4 and hasn`t ever seen or suspected a thing, plus it`s a council flat whistling.gif so it`s easily hidden should they decide to pay me a visit wink1.gif.

scarface, the mrs and leepy,
Cheers for you comments, much appreciated.

Hi bazza,
It took a day to build the false wall and a couple of days to get all of the decorating done, and the room and setup has been in the making for a few years now rofl.gif , there`s always something to upgrade when I get some spare cash but at the moment I`m happy with how it is wink1.gif.

Alright brad,
I used to combat the smell just by venting into the loft whistling.gif . I bought an Odorsok but ditched it after 2 days and there`s no room for a carbon filter in there, that`s why I`ve bought the ozone generator. The smell has never really been a problem, it`s detectable in the last few weeks of flower slightly but hopefully no more wink1.gif. My flat (or the councils rofl.gif ) is a first floor cottage flat and it`s actually quite big, 2 big bedrooms and large lounge and a huge kitchen. Its actually bigger than the two bedroom house my brother used to have! rofl.gif And I`ve never had any comments from my neighbors, and they`d be the first to complain at the slightest hint of a smell the moaning bastards, they complain to the council about the noise when I so much as fart! rofl.gif

Cheers all,
Burns cool.gif

Tell me what color my eyes are then! rofl.gif The quality of the pics has been reduced enough that I doubt the FBI could pic me up from that picture wink1.gif. But well spotted mate.

Close but no cigar redeyes mate rofl.gif
As for the ozone generator, the test strips haven`t picked anything up at all with it on it`s lowest setting which means it`s concentration is lower than 40 P.P.B (parts per billion). So I`m going to leave it as it is for now and I`ll probably turn it up once in flower, unless of course I can`t smell anything wink1.gif. And I`ve got a couple of spare test strips just in case.

hey bro.. So cool to see the 'inner workings' of your grow space.. I always expected it to be so much bigger from the pics ...Man - 32oz from the space you have it simply amazing.. and you said you have had bigger yeilds.. guitar.gif

I see what you mean about loosing alot of space to the Timber Frame - Would be cool if you could get a low profile rez and like you said possibly try some sativa's etc.. cool.gif

I think alot should and will learn from your grow room and if they use the (KISS - keep it simple stupid) they will all be laughing smile.gif yahoo.gif

Btw what ozone generator are you using? they sound alot more cost effective then using carbon filters and etc.. alien2.gif

Anyways bro.. thanks for sharing.

Psy
