In my wardrobe at the moment, I have three walls decked out in mylar and the rear wall just the white of the back of the wardrobe. If I just matt whited the whole inside, do you think it would be cooler in there than it was with the mylar?

No, mylar bounces back and reflects 95-98% of the light energy back where as white will reflect most of the light a good 10-20% will be converted from light to heat energy, if it where better no-one would bother to use mylar and just simply paint there room Rj

QUOTE Important to note is that mylar reflects radiant heat energy just as well as foylon (around 85%), so proper ventilation is necessary if mylar is used in your grow room. I think that matt white paint may quite possibly be cooler than Mylar. -------------------- "If people only did everything they wanted, everyone would just spend all day sitting on the carpet, watching the poker channel, wanking and eating those expensive German biscuits.......probably." i ment for greeny m8, i,d say proper ventilation is necessary regardless, if the ambient temp is up the heats going to bounce around no matter what you cover your walls with, more heat will be absorbed by the white paint but only alittle, its only a small percentage but you do lose more light energy through white paint than you would with mylar, over such a small area you aint going to see a difference

Flat white paint will do you fine mate, mylar will heat a room up which is no bad thing at this time of the year either i guess!
Maybe buy some cheap paint and concentrate on getting a good airflow and good on / off temps? taffy |
