Looking nice bobsie, I like the look of how youve hung the fan. How are the strings attached to the fan?

Simply some screws in the holes where the standard factory hanger would go in. The bungy cord (which I bought in a length from Ebay dirt cheap - search for "shock cord" ) is then simply wrapped around the screws tightly then tensioned against the hooks that are above secured well into the roofing beams for the house - they are not going anywhere. There are a couple of smaller loops on the bottom edges which are hooped around the beams to centre the fan completely.
On the silencer to the left of the picture I have just slung it in a cradle of the cord. Then taken one of the casement screws out of each end and replaced with a longer one. Wrap the bungy around this bit of screw that sticks out and it stops it coming off the cradle too easy.

Nice job there Bobsie, but I'm having trouble visualising exactly what you've done with the black and white, could you show a picture of the whole space from the outside, if you see what I mean? I can't quite see what kind of space you have ended up with.

The black and white is stapled to the chipboard stuff. So basically the entire structure is just "skinned" over the existing woodwork of the loft/roof. The best picture of the whole thing is probably the 3d render on my first post on this thread which shows the skeleton of the build really.
The only differences from that are the location of the exhaust vent being over to one side and lower down. As cube it would be 2m x 2m x 2m, gives me enough room to move up there with the two buckets easily.
Will try and remember to get some more pictures up of the whole structure for you at the weekend as I will be up there doing a bit of work to swap them to 12/12, drain the nute buckets, switch in my 600w diamond and space them out a bit more spliff.gif

Near enough spot on really, just ended up with the move of the air system to the left and down. Makes it easy to work around as its out the way there.

Edit:
I cant resist an opportunity to take some pictures biggrin.gif

The outside views.

I see what you've done, you've built a sort of box around the joists. Outstanding. I'm working on a loft grow design at the moment, bet it won't be as good as yours! Well done.

How are you intending on the height issue, it doesnt look like you have much room to go up there? Im assuming your gonna be bending them a fair bit with the scrog?

This time of year the loft is perfect place to grow imo.

Scrogged all to hell lol.gif. Bare in mind its a good 7 ft in height and the light is down low at the moment.
Above the boxes and to the light (without getting too close) I would say may 3.5 to 4ft of growth area up. To the sides though, plenty room easily. Will be figuring out a way to support it all when the time comes.

Squirrel - thanks matey. I am not totally happy with it to be honest, there are some changes I will be doing a some point in the future to get it a little less rough and ready. Its all a learning curve really .

I may have missed it, but I can't see anywhere you mentioning insulating the roof? Have you done this?
