Hey Rellick, thanks for stopping by my diary, tent looks awesome mate, love a bit d.i.y I do  shows a certain type of commitment if ya know what I mean ;)

Just a quick one tho something I noticed and by all means ya can tell me to feck off off if ya think I'm wrong but have ya considered the negative pressure from the extraction sucking the sides in? I would have put the Visqueen on the outside buddy (that's just me tho) :yep:

Happy growing

cannabisking mate

I had thought exactly that as i was knocking it together
was gonna put visq outside but worried about wood and disease etc. :alien2:
its only crappy batten (been outside for god knows how long)

it is stapled all round and if it really sucks in ill chuck some more batten in to staple to

the door is the bit im still not sure on
think ill need some velcro for that
there are two layers as you can see (i hope) from these pics

Any input on how to get the inside flap to stay put is welcome

Like you say velcro is a good idea but maybe just put it on in spaced out pieces rather than all the way round :yep:

Hi mate, nice bit of DIY there:)
Gaffer tape is the universal fixall when grooms are involved so maybe a little of that to hold the door shut, you can get self adhesive backed velcro, caravan and camping shops usually sell it cheap for repairs and stuff.

looks ok for now :yep:
How about a door frame made of batten , hinges on the outside .
i did one similar to this for a mate as a screen door, rough as fuck but it's lasted 4 winters.

Doesn't have to win any design awards, as long as it shuts snugly to stop any light getting in .
( which is another thing, have you got inside to check whether the light doesn't get through the sheeting at all ? )

you could add extra battens to the inside to take any strain off the white sheeting, or get the pressure just right by adjusting the intake , or both.
Up here for dancing , Down there for thinking.
I left in love, in laughter, and in truth and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit.
Why you need a contactor (AKPOG's lucky escape)

yes a door will probably be necessary
after a few weeks of lifting that sheet I'm gonna be chapped off with it

have had the light on inside its pretty much light proof
few pinholes to patch
and the door obviously, it doesn't leak light when its pulled taut though so hope velcro will do that

still have some batten left so can reinforce where needed

thanks for the input, will try and get more done on it tomorrow
done fuck all today
just got some pots and john innes #1

Nice one, looks quite similar (but a bit more organised) to my recent attempt in the loft.
I used sticky Velcro for the door flap, and it's still sticks (to the sheeting as well as together) some 6 months on so I'd recommend that as well.
I put a short batten at the bottom of the flap and 'roll' the door up along the strips of Velcro

did the vent through loft yesterday

thought i was having a prob with neg pressure
then after going round the whole thing covering every staple with a piece of tape
i realised i hadn't waited long enough for the pressure to build

it does suck in a lot so next quest is a cardboard lightrap

also some way of hanging my filter upright (ducting comes straight down)

thinking a little rope bag type thing will do

ooh sailor

thanks for your input mate
how is it different to a tent?
or a cupboard for that matter?

the light has ample room all round
i would say the combustion point of the plastic is slightly lower than a tent
but my tent is vented so shouldn't see a massive heat build up anyway
i also have a contactor for my timer

any ideas will be taken seriously
