Hey hows it growing! I've decided for next year i'm gonna make or buy a mini-green house. are they expensive to buy or should i make it? if so what material is the best? is it good for things like keeping the smell down etc?

Hey, i was told to use Perspex, just some clear plastic, you'll be able to get it at any DIY store.

Plastic sheeting would be easier and cheaper. I've seen plans using PVC tubes with push-fit connectors to make a half-cylinder type thing. Plastic sheet then stapled over it.

ive been using a pound strechers £30 plastic green house for the past 2 years,unfortunatley i didnt take it down in the winter otherwise it would have been ok for a couple more years, main proplem has been the zip comming away from plastic sheeting as its under a fair bit of tension when the things all ziped up,got a built in shelving unit thats ideal for young plants,enough room for 4 rather large plants,just have to keep an eye on there height

I have a large plastic tunnel that I do on the odd ocasion put my plants into.(mainly when we have visitors).
I have been known to finish the plants off in here but you have to be very very careful about damp. Plastic houses do not ventilate as easy as glass ones (at least in my experience) and this can cause some mold growth.

yeah i was talking to a m8 and he told me to put some holes at the top for ventaltion (thats if i use hard plastic!) i think i'm gonna try maybe 1 in a mini-green house, well thats if i get any females!!!

Hey hows it growing?

I was in homebase today and i was looking for stuff for my green house and i saw alot of stuff for growing, like the ultimate kit for cuttinns it had 6 small yoghurt type pots with alaminium foil over the top you pierced it and put the cutting in it, that was a £5 and i bought a propogator that was £3 it watered it self it was re-usable (it wasn't made out of the best material, but hey good deal), there was quite a sallection of propogator cheap to expensive. They all so had a big sellection of materials to use for making mini-green houses. They also had a alot of themomitors and humidity readers.

so if ur heading down to homebase take a look around the was somke good shit.
