It holds water very well however - these pots are far heavier than their PM equivalent and took a lot more water before run off.

Commercial composts like BioBizz Allmix or JAB&JI are sold as a ready to use product; as it happens both contain perlite. But they will have added it to a precise balance. So adding more is not only of little point, but it also risks upsetting that balance. And why spend cash when its not needed?

I used the ever so amateur 'left hand as a riddle' technique - pouring from the sack with my right hand, breaking up clumps and fishing out sticks in my left hand as I went.
I'll certainly be dropping by Wilko on the way home to get one now that I've learnt that lesson!

I heard a good trick today...roll the bag round while before you cut it...breaks all the lumps up

There is no need to add/dilute it,Autos love the stuff and only a few have ever needed a tiny ammount of grow at about wk5 of the final pots at wk6 (final pot) the fert runs out and you go straight into feeding them bloom.

I purchased 3 bags of JAB MP+JI late last year from a small garden centre in the South East.
All 3 contained no perlite. Seemed like nice stuff though.
I have started a grow with it, currently in week 4 of flower and I'm only just considering whether I should maybe give them a feed!
If anything it seems a little hot. Most of my plants showed slight clawing and some tip burn during veg and I only gave water, but otherwise no problems at all so far.
I just bought another 3 bags from the same place .. and it now has bits of woodchip in it.

I'm the same buddy?
Small wood chippings instead of the perlite in the 20 litre bags.
I'm away to pick up a few 60 litre bags.
I've never had jab with ji with any noticeable perlite.
It's still all good though, plants love it.
I'm up nortn also 54 lat
