hi everyone,

Just wondering and maybe being a bit to hopeful but was thinking of setting up this little cupboard as room for one plant!. This is a cupboard just below my aquarium so no one would suspect a thing. I reckon i could grow a fairly decent auto flowering plant in here like a low ryder.

Problem is im shit with DIY stuff so i have some myler reflective stuff. Can always put a fan in the back but not massively worried about carbon filters.

Only problem is lighting. What kind of lighting would fit in such a small space? and without a reflector how would i have it suspended horizontally? Any ideas or maybe i have it hanging but that leaves less space for the plant surely? I have one tiny little light on at the moment which i usually use for the aquarium. My other indoor grows in my grow tent im using a dual spectrum CFL

any ideas are welcome :)

How big is your space? Also are you going to take out the stuff already in there eg plug sockets?

About 50 - 75W per square foot is good for CFL's I think.

I have a similar space on the other side with no plugs or anything so probs will do it that side. Im new to making grow spaces so how would i go about finding where to purchase the lighting from?

I know id need to buy a red and blue spectrum but where do you find lighting that small and how would i attach it to the mains? I doubt lighting that small provides hangers like the slightly bigger wattage lights

So how big is the space? The reason I ask is because you need to decide roughly how many watts of lighting you want to use.

Also, are you sure about the no CF? Even a small plant can really smell.

I would be,even if your venting into the room,it's smelly stuff.
Play safe.

Measurement for the space are about 1.2foot by 1.2 foot so u could have one plant in there. Has about enough space to grow 2 and half foot. Lighting is the main question of how I would find and have it all attached to the ceiling of the cupboard

Just to confirm for anyone in future who is thinking of a cupboard this size. Its hard to maintain correct temperatures and for lighting theres not realistically enough room. Maybe for 2weeks 3MAX growth!
