saw this thread when it first started, and just wanted to say to the OP if you're smelling still try using that hand gel stuff they have in hospitals, i've had a few problems recently with people smelling me, and realised water won't wash, so tried some of that hand gel and the sticky was gone straight away, and no more smells, i have a bottle next to my tent now!!!!
Thanks for the idea!

Where would you get that stuff, available easily (ie, supermarket), or will I need to investigate online to find it?
Since starting this thread I haven't had the problem again. But then I strictly stick to the following now.
No looking at the plants before work.
Shower and shave just before I'm due to leave.
Special set of shoes, jeans and shirt that are hidden away in the bathroom
Only put them on to walk out the door and take them off as soon as I walk back in through it
So far, so good!
As for the 'off topic' talks.
I am fantastic at driving with my knees and use them almost as much as my arms (when I'm the only person in the car!). Not because I'm doing anything with my hands, I just enjoy it

I've made a spliff while driving once. When I was 19, on the way from Sheffield to South Wales, I was in a sh!t escort van and was following a rather loverly Aston Martin at about 90 when we passed a police car parked up. He followed me for 5 minutes (shitting me right up!), but then overtook and pulled the Aston (result!), was to scared to pull over to make the spliff incase he passed and stopped for a chat with me too so made it on the move.
These days however even just smoking a spliff in the car makes me far to paranoid to be able to enjoy it, which is a shame as if it has any effect on my driving, it's positive..
As for the ethics of skinning up at the wheel. I think it's still safer than a lot of nutters on the road, but when it's so easy to pull over and do it why take the risk?
