Hi guys,

Sorry to hear of some of your troubles :(

I will try and clear a few issues up.

The consistancy of the Oldtimer Bloom has been the same all along, this has not changed from batch to batch. Unfortunately we can not be held accountable for items being stored incorrectly by either the end user or retail outlets, but to be fair in most instances people do not encounter issues.

Each batch undergoes analysis to ensure all targets are met, the amount of organic matter, trace elements etc This analysis for us means alot, it ties in the job cards with each batch, you will see on the bottles a batch code normally on the reverse of the bottle, it looks like a price label. We put this on their for the "just in case" scenarios. Should any of you guys experience any issues with ANY of our products not just the Oldtimer please do not hesitate to get in touch quoting the batch number. For a quicker response it would probably be better to go via our website and use the contact us link ;) I have been known to not be around these forums for months at a time :wassnnme: :headpain:

Back in July our supplier had changed the mollasses in the bloom formulation, the product itself was better than it ever had been, they told me that the mollasses was more microbial friendly, but we soon saw that some of the bottles started expanding as some of you here have mentioned, I was told as it was more friendly and a greater food source for the microbes it produced C02, with a sealed lid on it just expanded the bottles. We quickly re-called all stock of this batch and are confident that we managed to recieve most the stock back. There would have obviously been a few bottles that may have been purchased in the over lap, but this really would have been minimal. As I say though, this particular batch should work alot better than all previous batches. But if anyone wants replacements get in touch via our contact us button on our website with a photo of the bottle in question and I will have no issues what so ever to replace this item for you :yinyang:

+1 :yep: Nice to have some reassurance on this. Loving your products so far and didn't want to have to backtrack on the recommendations I've made to people or find a new nute range for myself either. Thanks PM.

my head's a bit spronged now..

just got my Green's delivery of PM soil..some PM Bloom Boost..(which i'm a-itchin' to use.. :B): ..

but must have ordered the soil Bloom rather than the PM OT1 Bloom..

anyone know the difference in use between these two blooms..i can read off the different NPK levels..and it looks like the Soil Bloom has way less P than OT1 Bloom..

bit gutted really since i felt safe with the OT1 stuff and this new stuff is strange to me..

also..what would you guys do..?..i only paid for 1L and they have sent me 5L..!!

i will be ringing them i think..tho' it's too heavy for me to cheaply send it back..also..might someone there get on trouble if i go telling tales of a mistake..?

questions questions.. :yinyang:

Tbh mate greens service is pretty good so if it was their mistake I'm pretty sure they'll cover the postage somehow (and I wouldn't worry about getting anyone onto trouble either). If it was your mistake then I guess it's up to you whether you want to pay to return it. Did they charge you correctly? Or have you had 5l of soil bloom for the price of a litre of oldtimers?
The soil bloom is meant to be good too but obviously not organic so it's your choice really.

hey nobody..

yeah mate..

i paid for the 1L of OTI Bloom and have gotten a £30-odd quid tub of the Soil Bloom instead..

it's my mistake over ordering the wrong thing..but theirs in sending the wrong stuff..

i'll give them that call and see what they think is best to do..don't really want to feel like i'm ripping off brethren as it were..

especially since i've a lot of time for them due to my fine experience of their quality service up to now.. <_< :)

Thanks for post PM.

I'm not much of a one for chemical fertilisers, but to save you worrying about N:P:K ratios, pm+ chem fertilisers, use phosphite to supply phosphates and are expressed as such, believe me your plant will have an adequate supply of phosphate, the other thing about phosphites is that it helps resistance to fungal infections especially if occasionally used as a foliar spray every now and again, phosphite increases flower production and yield when tested against standard phosphate fertilisers in agricultural trials.

Saying that do try the organic fertilisers sometimes in the future.
Q. how do i make seeds?

A. You take a splinter off my cross, tie a few hairs to one end of it, dip the hairs into the pollen and lightly brush the pistils with it.

If out of stock shops will sometimes put the next nearest thing but the next size up for no extra cost, eg I recently ordered a 10m cat5 cable, they had none in stock so sent me 2 x 15m. Personally this isn't acceptable with feeds. Get in touch, I'll bet they'll send you the right stuff but not ask for the other stuff back. If not name and shame them so we can all avoid this happening to us please, it's your duty.

Aww I just read your full post, maybe not much you can do if you ordered the wrong stuff, I'd still buy a 5l tub of organic bloom, it's only £30 odd quid.

thanks OT1 and 2hi..

don't know how to use multi-quote so i haven't but am replying to you two really..

thanks for the info on the phosphite/phoshate distinction OT1..and the tip on foliar feeding..

it was your organic Bloom i was after but i mis-ordered..for i would much rather be going the organic route..but i'm also wont to wrap up what happens to me in ineffable ideas such as serendipidity..and so will use the chemical Bloom i have as it arrived with me somehow..

(wobbles away somewhat awe-struck having addressed a Legend.. -_- )..

and hey 2hi.."it's only £30-odd quid"..somedays that's a pittance..sometimes a hoard held somewhere far off..i suspect they may have read off the order and presumed i wanted the non-organic Bloom because i had just ordered the non-organic Boost too..which i didn't realise wasn't organic either..

i bought it on a recommendation from a respected grower on here..but didn't chase up it's provenance..

out of choice i woulod be using organics..but at least i will be in a position to offer an opinion on the two types of PM Bloom after this.. :)

thanks for your replies.. :yep:

Just opened my new bottle of OTB today and was greeted with what you all describe. The bottle had swelled noticeably before i opened it. I have emailed Greens to see if i can get a replacement. Just for the record what will happen if i use this on my grow (i will need Bloom nutes in about a week or so for my girls). Not sure if Greens will have sorted it out by then ticket on the side of the bottle said: 29072011.... Hope that ain't a "use by date" as i only got it on the 20th Sept.

Thanx.

Just to balance the thread out a bit, I got my bottle of OT Bloom last week and it was fine, no expansion :D
