Black Jack Weigh In

OK so as you know I harvested 3 BlackJack autos there a couple of weeks back, and so have since jarred em up and weighed em, and here I am... Each were in 6L pots.....and total weight from the 3 plants was ~185g of prime bud, + approx 10-15g of airbuds/trim...

So on average that is approx 60g per plant, over 2oz..pretty solid for 70 days effort if u ask me! Theres 180g on the scales, and I smoked approx 5g between drying and weighing, maybe a bit more as I tried a couple of joints from each of the 3.

I wont comment on the BJ just yet, it needs a couple of weeks before I make a proper call. It seems nice, but I prefer the FastBud2 so far....

Catch ye soon guys! :smokin:

.::~ Quick Update 09/01/2012 ~::.

OK so quick update on environment and general plant health. Some very very slight yellowing going on some of the younger ladies due to (I think lower temps) and prob from being root bound before being potted up recently. One of the DubleWhite suffered some burn on some fans quite some time ago so these were removed as part of aesthetic pruning :) All of the photo plants are being bottom fed currently. This is due to my 5L lance yoke being bust currently. Also an experiment in laziness too. I know top feeding pull fresh air to the roots so will have to keep an eye and make sure its not too wet too much of the time. So far so good though. I dont plan to bottom feed forever, but it is good to know what can/cant be done without issues arising..They are being fed a mix of Fishmix, Rhizotonic and Superthrive...what more could a vegging plant ask for? :) Once I am happy they have greened up a bit (have to rem not to overdo the fishmix as per past experiences) I will move em back onto coco based Canna nutes.

The Cream Caramel autos which are finishing had their main colas removed and are being dried currently. The remaining plants are being fed low EC dilution of vegging forumla I use (fishmix/rhizo/sthrive) - EC 0.50. I gave them 5L of this at approx 8pm. By midnight they had soaked up the lot and were still a little dry on top so added approx 5L of plain tap water. I expect to harvest these in the next 10-14 days, depending on progress, and depending on how soon I need to get the bigger Green Poison and Double White plants into 12/12, which is quite soon as theyre getting big...expecially the GP...and am I going fully auto and 20/4 in the main tent anymore? So many decisions to make...!

Photo update soon... :smokin:

Environment: Cooooooold
  • Min Temp: 15°
  • Max Temp: 24°
  • Min RH: 30%
  • Max RH: 45%

Watering/Feeding:

  • Tap Water (EC/PH): .02/7.7
  • Main feed EC: 1.4-1.5
  • CCauto 'stumps' :) EC: 0.05
  • PH: 6.2
  • Base: BioBizz FishMix,
  • Addittives: Rhizotonic, Superthrive

Cheers guys...the jars are quickly being demolished and so I got to kick 12/12 off real soon, like before the weekend if possible..I have since jarred and currently curing 4 Cream Caramel autos..I havent got a weight yet but I will do tomorrow when I jar the rest of it..I harvested the 4 main colas first, and approx 2 weeks later the lateral buds..the 4 main colas weighed 40g altogether..

I have to say the Cream Caramel auto tastes and smells the best by far out of all the SS autos I have tried so far, and all have been at least good if not great so far..(so thats, FastBud2 and BlackJack auto)..the aromas from the buds are very complex and trigger all sorts of recollections and familiarities, all changing and morphing many times a second...and it stinks..I was in parents house for the weekend and I only rolled a joint in my room and it stank out half house..My mother was giving out about it "that smell of rotten vegatables is back again, like at Christmas", she knows right well what it is but I dance around the subject. Quite frustrating. I was seriously considering talking to them about it, just to let them know that me smoking bud does not mean that im putting money in criminals pockets or that the weed might be contaminated etc..when my mother had serious shit to say to me when I was younger she used to write me a letter cuz if she did it to me in person it would of just blown up. Maybe its time I write ny folks a letter!

Anyway I apologise for my lack of updates lately; Ive had loads of shit goin' on at work and been away from home quite a bit..I should be able to get back to things from now though I am hoping..

I really need to get 2 of the Double White and one Green Poison potted up from a 6L and into a 11 or 18L pot..Im thinking the 11L will be too small but I intent to switch to 12/12 pretty much right away and so no point in going any bigger really..Im getting some drooping leaves at the top of the plant and have a feeling its getting rootbound, and also alot of yellowing and some brown spots ala a calcium def but I dont think its that, well im not sure..needs further inspection and consideration but overall im not happy with their current health but I put that down to low temps and the bottom feeding. Thats just a theory though..Ive switched back to using my lance (it just started working again!) and regulated the feed, and topped up on Rhizo, so hopfully we will be back on track. A good burst of new growth in the first 2 weeks of 12/12 should help things, but I need to have everything in check before I make that change.. Ill keep ye posted with an update real soon...

Oh, also, Im currently running on 24/0 due to the low ambient temps..cant afford another rad on (have electric heaters, cost a bomb), and I dont have an oil rad with thermostat..so the lamps are keepin the tent at an approx 19degree tempreature all the time...not good, but could be worse..it can only get better? :headpain:

Piece :smokin:

.::~ Hell's Update ...first in a while! ~::.

OOOkay then..So ive not been on much of late, and so this is the first update in a while. Apart from not being able to tend to my garden a fraction as much as id like/need to for pretty much all of January the cold winter has been cruel to my ladies. Last week I put a 400w oil rad in there and things have gone into fast forward compared to how they were. Kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

temps have now stablised between 20c and 27c, before this it was 12c-19c approx
Posted Image

Anyway the result of this was I ended up with 3 ladies which were huge, but not enough to fill a tent, and the rest just coulndt catch up. The 3 bigger ones ended up getting root bound in the neglect, and also fell foul to soon nasty deficiencies too. So Ive just flipped the switch to 12/12 on Friday, and the biggest girls were already running out of space, so theyre gone. Dead. I was also worried about how they would perform as they had purple stems and alot of yellow foliage from being root bound and underfed. I didnt want to take any chances. Up close they looked a lot worse than they do in the shots below..

Here some shots of the beloved dead..a bit of a shame I know..

Together

The one that survived..much shorter...

So what im left with now is 4 x Cream Caramel, 1 x Green Poison and 1 x Double White. These girls are under the 600w, however, i have just began germ'ing 3 x Green Poison auto, 3 x Sweet Special auto and 4 x FastBud (1st gen).

The autos will be put under the 600w, filling the 1.2m tent, and the 6 photostrain named above will be put into the 80cm tent, under a 250w HPS.

This might sound a little crazy, but if my maths are right, and the autos perform as well as the other SweetSeeds autos I have grown, I could hit a g/watt, or near enough. Time will tell, sounds too good to be true, I know.

All together, after the murder...

The new breed...can you spot the spelling mistakes?

So while Im still busy as fook I have enough time to look after my ladies..I will try to get an update a week posted as regularily as possible, but admittantly a new camera would really help there..my current one is a piece of shit and actually stresses me out to use it..anyway..hoping for great things from these new autos..and some great things from the old ones too (FastBud..tried and trusted according to the Italians, and Astronut!)... :)

Good to have you back mate!

And by the looks of it you've chosen some nice sweet seed strains (try saying that after a bevvy or two) And yes i'd like to vouch that fastbuds are an excellent strain and hope you have as much success with yours as I have Hell.

Hope the cold hasn't caused too many headaches mate and GL with the germination (was kinda hoping you'd be growing the sweet cheese autos as I like the sound of it...lol)

GL mate

Very quick update from my smartphone...

So of the 10 auto beans I put down last week 7 have made it so far. The 3 that didn't make it were all green poison autos. All 3 sweet special came up but I'm keeping.g a close eye on one that seems a little mutant like..

Looking good besides but I'll get a photo update up real soon ..

Hey all, im just in from work since 8am, have just watered/fed the girls and im hitting the sack now after a smoke, so this is real quick...

Just to show the progress from this week to last, here is a before and after..getting that heater was a necessary god send..

Last week:

This week:

I also found some Cream Caramel auto harvest pictures on my camera so I will post them in the next couple of days...theyre some of the best buds I have ever grown; actually I think I can safely say they are the most aromaticly pleasant buds I have ever grown (not that im been at it all that long relatively speaking).. I cant wait to see how the reg versions compare (usually the other way 'round I know :))...

You can see that individually each plant will not yield very much, with very limited LSTing (1 tie down, 0 adjustments) and no topping. On the other hand the DoubleWhite at the back of the tent was topped to the max and has a lovely even canopy of top on her. If I had pulled the finger out sooner with the heater it may have worked out so, but as it is the tent is full so thats that.

So I dont expect a monster yield off this lot, but I will have 3 variations. To keep my jars filled I will be running the 7 (maybe 6) auto beans in parallel. Well, slightly behind really, this way I can get the autos in under the 600w for the last few weeks of their life at least. They will be under a 250w MH/HPS before this. More on this later..spliff/bed time..

God I got the munchies, but nothing to munch on! Grrr...Oh...I got milk...I got hot choclate powder..I got hot chocolate...yipee!
