Hello peeps,just got a 600 mh for veg stage. When is the best time to switch to hps. Thanks for response. :skin_up:

I'm not sure that there is a correct answer to this one, being more a matter of personal preference.

Personally I would switch to HPS after week 2 of flowering, or week 3 if I'm worried about stretch. Then switch back to MH for the last 2 or 3 weeks with a sat or sat dom hybrid.

To make the buds more pschoactive, from the UV light emitted by MH. Some strains react more than others, usually sativa or sativa dominant hybrids. eg Smile responds well to UV light.

Yes i,ve read the theory but the likes of grolux and sunmaster have blue put in to there colour spectrum ? i,m not saying one is better but i thought that was the purpose of dual spec lamps as some peeps call them ? Thanks TCD

Sylvania grolux are fukin awful bulbs for flowering Canna ime. Avoid at all costs

But went with power plant bulb instead.

This time round, I changed 1 week into flowering and my green poison has stretched like buggery.
Next time i'm going to leave it in until the stretching has slowed down.

I've been experimenting with this the last few grows.

Long story short, I now very happy with the results using : 4weeks MH - 2/3 weeks HPS then back to MH to finish.

My buds seem denser, my stretch is lower, and i have probably lost a little in yield, but the amount is negligible.

I can't comment on the psychoactivity as I haven't ever done a side by side.. But what I can say, Is the last grow I did using this method; the weed has got me close to whiteying a couple of times now... Something I haven't experienced in a while lol

No not by chance, by marketing mate

They're a compromise imo, my plants are always happier with straight hps.

e2a blue isn't the same as uv. afaik there's no uv emitted by ds lamps.

I can,t say ? i can say a norm osram hps are visibly orange in colour in comparison to a grolux which is more a yellow colour ? I don,t know the technical jargon, but that,s what i see between the two. TCD aftethought sunmaster has a graph on there carton claiming from ?nm to ?nm wavlength ???
