did you get down the blue hole that some freaky shit of a dive .. you swim out over the coral only 2 feet deep then all a sudden over that deep blue hole ..shame I can't dive any more :( but can snorkel OK still (HOPES)

Man thats proper grim. I love diving but i dont think you'd catch me going down a hole in the bed or shipwrecks, freak me out those things :fear:
Shame i missed an opportunity to go diving in the carribean because it was so damn expensive. Nearly £150 for a single tank dive.

How come? Officially I can't any more but went on holiday with the mrs to the Maldives and quickly thought 'fuck this'. Apart from the idea of missing out on such great diving I'd have gone fucking mental sitting on the beach on an island that was about 500m x 200m for two weeks.

Never took any underwater pics but did get these;

'sonly about 2 foot long though. The juveniles were everywhere in the shallows practising hunting in the schools of small fry.

Yeah I've technically got a chest condition. I've had regular lung function test and chest x-rays for the last ten years and they're actually in perfectly normal working order but a doc can't give me a fit to dive certification and so my insurance would be invalid if anything happened (if my condition caused any complications that is, hopefully it wouldn't and they'd never realise anyway). I just did a few easy dives to begin with and figured that if I started to feel iffy at any point I'd make my excuses but it was all good.

Hey Madgiz ! :)

Just stumbled into this wonderful thread. I have never done scuba diving but did a lot of free diving when I lived in the Caribbean and I love the world under the sea. It is so peaceful and serene (most of the time). I had never thought of scuba diving as a holiday but it looks like a huge and very exciting adventure.

Thanks to you and everyone for putting up the lovely photos. :yep:

Necro I know, but going to sharm on 19th dec for 7 days.

Never dived, going for the smoke and the history.

But youve intrigued me sir, I do have a phobia of the sea,
well the unknown really.

But I keep trying to gee myself up for a few refresher swimming lessons
and a few diving ones in a local pool as to not miss out.

But yeah nice pics, loverly.

As I am off again on another underwater adventure as of Monday I thought I would just have a quick trip down memory lane and read through my own thread and I tell you what it has got me excited.. :yahoo:

Apparently it is back to the old days diving in Egypt since the uprising and all the bucket and spade tourists have fecked off..

No more fish feeding snorkellers or over crowded glass bottom boats invading my space.. Posted Image

More pics to follow..
