I'm a poultry virgin, but I was wondering if anyone keeps Guinea Fowl? I like the meat and love the eggs + I read that they love de-grubbing the vegies... all +'s.... but I also read some negative stuff about them so not sure... my only experience of them was a manic little flock that rooted around the gardens where my missus used to work, they seemed like brilliant little birds. Are they any good for a beginner?

I get a flock of anything up to 50 birds regularly coming into my garden, because its a indigenous species in these parts. They do taste delicious, but I can't bring myself to shoot one so I've only ever eaten some knocked over by accident on the road by a car... mmm road kill, its all good as long as its just been freshly killed and doesn't have too many tyre marks on it
