Hey all, so while I have a few weeks before I get some beans germ'd and kicked off, it's time to get this diary created to officially register myself in the runnings so to speak.

I still have some work to do on choosing the diary format so hoping to get that sorted out in the next week or so. Until then, here is some info on the strains I will be running.

Competition Strains:

  • Green Poison
  • Double White
  • Jack47

I will also be adding in updates from some SweetSeeds autos I have on the go on the run up to Christmas. This is more so to keep things interesting while the first run of competition strains are in the seedling stage.

I plan to grow the seeds in 2 batches (subject to change):

First run:

  • Strains:Green Poison (3) + Double White (3)
  • Start: Nov'11
  • End: Feb'12

Second run:
  • Strains:Jack47 (3) + [TBC*] x (3)
  • Start: Feb'12
  • End: May'12

* - TBC - these will be 3 SweetSeeds strains which are yet to be decided. Looking at either Cream47 or Cream Caramel currently.

Autos:
I will get some pics of my currnt autos to keep things ticking along, but the posts wont contain the same level of info as posts relating to the competition strains will contain.

  • FastBud#2 (2)
  • Black Jack (3)
  • Cream Caramel (5*)

* - 3 germed, waiting on 2 to come through.

The Autos:

FastBud#2

  • Days Veg: 27
  • Min Temp: 19
  • Max Temp: 25
  • Min RH: 35
  • Max RH: 55

FastBud2 - #1 - 6L - Coco

Black Jack

  • Days Veg: 19
  • Min Temp: 19
  • Max Temp: 25
  • Min RH: 35
  • Max RH: 55

BlackJack - # 1 - 6L - Coco

Here's a group shot:

And one of the tent - 80 sq.cm - 250w MH + Euro reflector - 4" RVK and CF:

Cream Caramel

5 Cream Caramel Seeds in rootriot cubes - 3 have come to the surface, one is nearly there, and no sign of the 5th but I have faith :)

Posted Image

I had read of Cream Caramel seedlings having 3 cotyledons - if you look at the cube in the bottom right corner you can see that this one only has one cotyledon - I am sure it will be fine though:

Watering/Feeding:
  • Water (EC/PH): .02/7.7
  • EC: 1.3
  • PH: 6.1
  • Base: Canna Coco A+B
  • Addittives: Rhizotonic, Superthrive

So apart from some yellowing on one of the Black Jacks its all going fine and everything is under control. Looking forward to getting the main flowering tent free'd up and getting this lot in under the 600w (also looking forward to giving the bloom tent a much needed end of cycle clean! its been bugging me!).

Quick side note on the autos: I have one FastBud#2 in an 11L pot, and the other in a 6L pot (both coco). While the two plants aappear quite homgenous the plant in the 11L pot is more developed than the one in the 6L and I can see how it is likely to yield more. This is in line with Tommy's findings in the SS autos diaries here on UK420. Whether ill pot all 5 Cream Caramel into 11L pots remains to be seen, but I would like to get at least 2/3 of them into 11L pots at least, as I believe a yield increase of 20-25% is achievable in this situation.

Hi hell9!!

Welcome to the contest! :smokin:

Yep, you should put at least 2 or 3 of them in 11 litre pots, like this you could compare the production and take your own conclusions ;) I never did it with CC Auto, so results may be different..

Good choice of strains, hope you enjoy your sweets, I'll be around when you start with it, sweet regards and good luck! :yep:

Great first page hell9

The photography is fantastic; it's quality of the light - don't know if it is a good camera or you or both but anyway :yep: :D

Hey Tommy, and thanks - I should of said that it was not CC Autos that you found the yield increase of the larger pots, hope I dont cause any confusion.

Thanks Thicky.

Let me assure you I have no photography skills. Definitely not one of my strong points. The light source in the shots above is an 250w MH in all except the first shot (seed packets) which is natural light. No nasty flash in any of the shots yet. :smokin:
