Hi & Thanks for all the info on this site from all members. I have learnt so much from this forum over the past years thanks to all the excellent posts. I can now grow some good weed,:B):

I just wanted to let people know that over the past years I have been using canna aqua & canna coco and have been suffering from lockout and just about every other problem you could ever get trying to grow a simple weed.

for years using canna in my hard tap water, EC 0.7 was HELL, even mixing my tap water with 50% RO water was still giving me problems.it took me a long time, YEARS :wallbash: to try and work out what the problem was. My problem turned out to be because of using too much PH down.

High PH and full of calcium tap water = have to use lots of acid to bring PH down = Lockout.

I have now changed over to using Plant Magic Coco A+B ,have only been using it for about 2 weeks and all I can say is WOW.my plants have never looked so good in all my time. The leaves are a really nice green colour & the plants seem to be growing in turbo mode, really, just looking at the plants you can tell they are loving it as they look mega happy :B):

I am using the HW A+B because of my 0.7EC hard tap water. At the moment in veg I am feeding 2ml per litre Plant Magic Coco A+B GROW. total 1.3 EC including tap water background EC.PH 6.0 Growing in Canna Coco pro mix.

Just wanted to let people know as I was thinking I may be able to help someone & give something back to the forum. So if you are using canna and are having problem with your plants try using Plant Magic.

I am very happy because I do not have to mess about filtering RO water now. That was a pain in the back side. Plus I will save money now because I do not need to buy replacement filters for the RO unit any more, & I do not need to use lots of acid anymore as the nutes bring the PH right down.

Usin hesi at mo and have been wondering bout pm in coco, now I'm convinced! Will be grabbing some of this soon!!
(I'm in hard water ec 0.7 and ph of 8.3 so lookin to get the same from a change of nutes as you did! Plants not locking out tho, just knew there's be a better Fred suited to our water!)

It's a pain here, constantly fighting limescale, kettles and washin machines only last a year!

I've got a very similar water profile, but found the opposite to be true.

Always had issues with nitrogen scorch using pm coco, also the well documented cal mag issues.

The pH buffering used to be somewhat better than the canna I found, although the canna has improved on that score, last 2 batches I've bought anyway.Nothing between them now imo.

Just goes to show what's best for one grow doesn't always translate to another! :yinyang:

I'm doing my first grow with Plant Magic nutes, have used BioBizz and Green Planet before....

My plants have never looked healthier and I seem to only need about 5 drops of PH down in a 15 litre watering can. Not checked the EC as I don't have a reader but my plants are looking amazing ans the leaves have the most beautiful sheen to them.

I just wish they did an organic coco feed because I can't take branches at various weeks to work out what effects I like best.

Anyway, thanks Plant Magic!

peace, 1up :smoke:

edit: I'm Using Canna Coco Plus as my growing medium.

I find it much easy now to read my plants using Plant Magic, when I was using canna I found it harder to tell if my plant was being overfeed or was being underfeed.

Now using Plant Magic I feel much more in control of the plants. My water company uses water from two different tanks depending what time of year it is so my tap water make up would change without me knowing about it, giving me problems. sometimes I had to use much more acid to bring PH level down than I did at other times of the year. So sometimes my plants would be great on canna and sometimes they would be locking out, same strain, same EC levels ,same system , everything the same , even down to the way I mixed the nutes up.

for years I though all my plant problems was because of myself, because I was new to growing, I just blamed all the plant problems on myself. I got so feed up with growing I gave up growing for a few years completely because I thought I just did not have that green finger, I thought I did not have it in me to grow myself a smoke :wallbash: .

Now I have smoke, at the min I have some amnesia haze that blows my head clean off :furious: I find it a bit to strong for myself really though because when ever I smoke it I just start day dreaming for hours on end witch I am getting a bit feed up with now  , need to find myself a new strain that is more laid back when smoking because this high as a kite feeling is not for me.

I am thinking about trying Mandala Seeds Hashberry because it's mostly indica ,do anyone know anything about this plant ?

Can anyone recommend a strain to me that is the most relaxing stone ever ? I would like the most relaxing strain ever with NO edgy feelings when smoked what so ever.

When I smoke this amnesia haze I can not get to sleep for hours , I need a strain that will help me get to sleep.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd write a little about my experience with using Plant Magic Neuts.
I first used the PM range a few years ago when I was starting in soil, I was quite impressed even though I never used anything else to compare it against.
Later on, I tried DWC with their hydro range and the growth rate was spectacular, until a couple of weeks into flowering when everything stopped went tits up and hermied, to this day not sure what happened but I stick to my theory that it was the glue in my cheap growtent gassing the plants.

Anyway next I tried coco using Vitalink neuts (that I had been recomended) and was getting goodish results but found the PH was always a bugger to keep correcting, so when I ran out I decided to be a cheapskate and use what I had left of the Plant Magic hydro stuff. Wow they loved it and my PH is bang on 5.9 - 6.0 everytime. I even used-up some hardwater A grow and a softwater B grow together which had no detrimental effects on the plants at all.

Recently I have just started using the correct PM Coco hardwater neuts which I am expecting great thing from, thankfully this too mixes upto the correct PH, which is a good start.

So there we are (sorry if I rambled-on).

Regarding Hashberry, I found it quite good (in soil) along with their Speed Queen (not heavy at all, so great if you want to do something rather than become a stumbling zombie (like i am right now:))...

Happy Gardening Everyone.

If you can remember , What EC level was you using when you got the nitrogen burn mate ? cal mag issues can be from over feeding , something that took me a long time to learn. I would say that a lot of calcium & mag issues people have is because of them over feeding there plants. If I overfeed my plants one of the first things I start seeing is brown spots on the leaves with the tips of the leaves bent over like a claw. rust patches on the leaves will soon follow.

I am not saying you was overfeeding your plants, just that in the past I thought I had cal mag deficiency but all the time it was because I was overfeeding them.

I think it's because calcium can only move around in a plant slowly, so when you overfeed water uptake slows down causing calcium deficiency because the plant needs a constont supply of calcium as far as I know. when your nutes are weaker the plant can uptake more water faster keeping calcium deficiency at bay. When the nutes are too strong the plant can not uptake water as fast and so can not get enough calcium to it's leaves in time so you start seeing many little brown spots appearing on the leaves followed by rust paches on them.
