Hi my S.A.D. AUTO's made it through what i call "the most amount of Bank Holidays i can remember in one go" so into the 4"er's they go. For this grow i have decided to try re using my compost (read a post from OT about him reusing his compost and he said that his harvest was better the second time round!).

I figure that the compost will have a nice active micro herd from all the good stuff the Creme Caramels got (and the fact that i can begin right away rather than waiting for compost to be delivered can't be taken for granted). So i removed the CC's from the pots and removed the larger plant mass BUT decided to leave the majority of the dislodged rootmass in the compost (because again i remember reading maybe OT again?? saying that the minerals in the roots would be available to the plants easier (chelated i think was the word.... Not so sure on the spelling mind ).

Also added Fytocell to the mix (till it felt "nice") and added some fresh coir/wormcast compost to replace some of the Nitrogen and a pinch of Rock Dust for good measure. On to the S.A.D. AUTO's:

New version of our S.A.D. (Sweet Afghani Delicious S1) autoflowering S-1. Result of crossing our best strains autoflowering with SAD S-1. Quality Auto above, with dense buds and copious resin production, intense and sweet aroma musky, fast flowering, strong effect and great hybrid vigor. The r-evolution of autoflowering reached the end of flowering these plants reach the same resinous and desirable than non-sisters autoflowering.

Autoflowering 100%
CBD: 1,4% CBN: 0,4%
Yeild indoor: 400-500gr/m2
Yeild Outdoor: 40-100gr/planta
Flowering outdoor: 5 weeks
Harvest Interior / Exterior: 8 weeks from germination
Height: 40-90cm.

Thanx.

First in! :D I'll help myself to some of your CC and roll a fat one  while you are preparing the compost for this lovely grow.
Nice that you are reusing your compost! are you letting the new mixture settle for while or do you use it straight up?

The sound of them SAD autos isn't bad at all - wish you luck!

Good luck with this grow DS and it'll be interesting to see what results you'll get re-using your compost.

I'll be keeping an eye on this and ATB :yep:

Hi thanks for the replies. The compost was removed from the CC AUTO's then added back to the remaining fresh compost (before this some wormcasts were mixed back into it with a bit of rock dust) this has been "brewing" since the CC's were erm.. "culled" . Most of the root system remains in the compost but this and the Fytocell have added a surprising amount of aeration to the mix (was sure not to OD the Fytocell) which is good because i was having some issues with compaction last time.

As it stands at Day 7 i have 3 x S.A.D. AUTO's and 1 x Creme Caramel AUTO's (???).... What you say where is the 4th S.A.D.??? Well it went something like this :

4 S.A.D. AUTO's went into the "soaking jar" the next morning they all come out and went into the 4"ers. The next day 1 and 2 were visible (and with a bit of help removing the shells were fine). The next morning 3 and 4 were visible HOWEVER 3 had fallen over and couldn't seem to shed it's shell which it did with a bit of help BUT never managed to right itself or open it's first set of leaves! number 4 managed to shed it's shell (just!) but remained small and yellow and never did much but open slightly then er... stop!

So S.A.D. 3 and 4 were "offed" and the 5th "spare" S.A.D. was started BUT this only left 3 still so the "spare" CC AUTO was "press ganged" into service.

Thanx.

This leaves me with:

Day 11 now 420er's! Just potted up S.A.D. 1 and 2 into the 6"er's so i thought only fair to snap a few pics after. Nice and healthy at the moment 3 and 4 are a few days behind. Seem to like their reused compost home (saved a few £'s also which can't be overlooked) when i came to fill the 6" pots with compost the mix was warm (active?) and felt great to squeeze in your hand very "spongy".

Here are some pics.

Thanx.

Quick pic of my "council juice purifier" turns nasty chlorinated water into the nectar of the gods! (actually does taste great.... Give's evian a run for it's money!! well nearly!! Best thing i bought for my growing (the pump and airstone) was about £11 delivered a neighbour had the water bottles "littering" his yard so was happy to see them go.

If you grow Organically think about this:

When you water from the tap you are effectively tipping small amounts of CHLORINE! into your compost (not good for the microherd at all!) bought it when i was in veg with my Kandy Kush and could see the benefits straight away!

Thanx.

Phew!! Been busy between the last update mrs got a new phone to replace the old Sony Ericsson so i have been "busy" getting it to play nice with my PC :russian: Still seems ok but might take a while to dial in the best settings/file size/res etc BUT def better already.

Day 19 now 1 and 2 are now in the 9"er's (yesterday) 3 and 4 are a few days behind (but CATCHING number 2!!) when 2 got repotted into the 6"er the rootball took some "punishment" (slightly to dry and it crumbled away in my hand as i went to place into the 6" pot :headpain:) not all of it mind you but "enough" to set it back and indeed 3 and 4 are chasing it's ass down now and will be "all over it" soon.

Still all the others are 100% and are def benefiting from re using the compost no N def (*whisper* yet :wassnnme:) or any other lack of nute/mineral/thing(!).

Here are the pix Sweet fans!!

*Top left to right 1 and 2
Bottom left to right 4 and 3 note how big 3 and 4 are compared to number 2!!!!. They had at least a 2 to 3 days head start.

Thanx.

Looking good mate and I hope you have better luck with these than I'm having with my SAD's, I will say though my problems are all down to grower error rather than genetics :wallbash:

Well peeps i'm afraid for now this diary will have to be word only as the practically unusable touch screen piece of crap Samsung has now point blank refused to connect to my PC and trying to use the frankly rubbish "touch" screen has me so wound up i could launch it!! (i pushed ok why is it scrolling down/up!!!) CRAP AVOID!!

The girls are doing great though (so much so i lifted #1's pot and looked at the drain hole) to see if i could spot roots.... Only to recoil in shock as a MONSTER root was poking out (thought it was a worm/maggot... NO JOKE!! ) Will try to sort some other way to snap pics but i refuse to use that crap again!!

Thanx.

lol got the problem beat..... It involves taking pix on the Samsung (boo hiss.. :wallbash:). Then bluetoothing the results to the good 'ole Sony Ericsson and taking them off there onto the PC phew!! no pics now though off out into the nice sunny (if windy!) weather up the market.

Will get some later or tomorrow.

Thanx.
