Digital Ballast life expectancy I think mine is dead Rate Topic: -----

HI Guys

Haven't been on the forum for couple of years as everything has been running perfectly :)

however my light is not on today tried a spare bulb no joy so figure my ballast could be dead?? :unsure:

It was an inexpensive 600w digital ballast had it about 5 years does that sound about right? Time I treated myself to a new one then yeah? Seen you lot talking about digital dimmable or something the lumatek one good yeah?

I know it is not lighting related but whats the life expectancy of intake/outtake fans too?
1st grow - now ongoing growing - currently white widow, jock horror and ak48

I never felt like a had a family until I joined UK420 :)

Sounds like its dead mate, Double checked all the connections just to be sure?

The lumatech digis seem the choice of today, Personally I think these Gavita's are well worth a look.

My budget digi only lasted 9 months so I would say you done ok ;)

Hi m8, welcome back! lol Where to start!

1. Yeah, 5 years outta your ballast is good value for money!
2. Yeah, I upgraded to a dim lumatek 600 a while back. Great peice of equipment IMO & last for at two or three years.
3. I change my fan every 2-3 years.

They only last 2-3 Years Max?

I wouldn't be happy if they only lasted 2 Years man..I was actually thinking about upgrading too them as I've always been uncomfortable with the heat Mag ones kick out but I've seen them last a lot longer than 2-3 Years :headpain:

Some of the digis have a inline fuse built on.Have a look to see if thats the bother. :smokin: HWZ

hey thanks for the quick replies :) I guess I knew it was probably dead just wanted to check what others did re replacing and you have all answered my question thanks.

I checked before its actually 4 years I had it. I have checked all connections etc and its all built in I just gonna order a new one its well deserved. Might have to replace my fans too soon :D
