So at present I hand feed in coco, I have large 20/25L pots and water every other day. I'd like to water more often and sometimes I have to go away for 5/7 days.

I'd like a simple dripper system.

Am I right in saying you need a large res, a water pump on a timer and then just pipe and drippers? Oh and air stone so it doesn't go stagnant.

I do scroggs so not looking at other hydro sets ups really as 9/10 I'm happy to hand water as it makes me go check the girls regually.

So just a pump in the 25L bucket? On a timer?
Cheers

Fuck me I was looking at your gallery jiffa and was going to suggest the OP take a visit. That's pretty much exactly what he wanted I imagine.

I understand that coco should only be used with run to waste - how much run off do you aim for jiffa? Is it possible to dial in the feed amount to minimise any run off?

All 4 are in a 1m x 1m tray, I would then just work out how long it takes before run off then deduct a minute to stay on the safe side I guess.

No it's run to waste - you discard the run off.

atm bro there in a mix match of pots so is had im just pluggin the pumps in at feed time and letting the pots run threw . have been getting more waste than id like atm but is a small price to pay ,

if they was all in same pots then yeh you could get it dialed it by the minute to reduce waste , i aim for about 10-15 % run off

All 4 are cuts, same size pots etc... can there be that much difference?

As its just for inbetween waterings and when I'm away maybe I could work out trimmings and deduct a few mins so they get 3 quarters full? I'd prefer that then flooding!!!! They are up in the penthouse!!

just sounds dodgy and risky , 1 pump failer means your tents now in your bedroom not your loft lol

try and find a tray just longer than your meter tray , a nft424 res is 1.2 meters i think , dril holes in one end of your meter sqare tray to let water run off . Then you just need a res for feed nutes thats smaller in volume than the collection tray ,. that way any timer fails and all the run off is collected

then its just a case of raising the meter square tray higher at one end

if your going todo it, doit right and doit once , get it wrong this time will put you off hydro forever lol . im sure can get a 424 res for about 30-40 quid

thats how id set it up bro

be lucky :lucky:

It'll be very difficult to get anything below my 1m x 1m tray as I've reduced the height of my tent already to fit everything in, however I may test the the capacity of my tray as the sides are pretty high, if I just use a small res (less then the tray) I'm thinking I should be alright???

Again this will only be needed when I'm away, may only need it to do 1 or 2 waterings as I'm usually good to get up there every 2 days.
