Hello ALL,

It's been over 5 years since I've been active in my hobby. Basically I got sick of the output I got from flourescents and small closets vs. risk. I promised myself I wouldn't get active again unless I did it right. Now, I got 2 400w switchable MH/HPS fixtures, with digital ballasts. A whole chit load of fans, Ebb N Flow( not active yet). I've been focusing mainly on climate. My experience in the past is that there can be a notable diffference between 78 F and 80 F (without CO2). In a 5x12X8.5h space this has proved to be a challenge for me; I got it under my thumb now, but I will have to add another fan for the extra light when I go 12/12. ultimatley I plan to go s.c.r.o.g. with the ebb n flow, I also have a light rail; However, this is gonna be a pain to setup since I've already got a bunch of fans in the ceiling. The one fixture that is running is currently glassed and ducted and super cool to the touch. 90% of the build is "homegrown" I saw no reason to spend twice as much to cool one light when I spent the same ammount at a hardware store and can more than adequatley cool two. Just have to look beyond the duct tape :smoke:. CURRENTLY HAVE 3 STRAINS/POTS. My baby/mother plant is Jack Here, no doubt bonnafied/certifed. In other words it didn't come out of a random bag of nuggz from some dewd on the street. The other two I'm not so sure about Northern lights (green bean at germination so its been really slow in growing) & "Sour Apple Bubble?" neva heard of it, but its not much of a contender either, but I intend to see them through atleast one cycle. I'm rusty I have screwed up a few times so far, but I'm really happy bout the climate right now stays btween 76-80. ONLY GOES to 80 if I'm drying alot of laundry, and NO MY DRYER IS NOT IN THERE BUT IT IS VERY CLOSE TO MY AIR INTAKE FOR THE ROOM. Another screw up was my canes on the plants were turning purple, I know thats a means they want N, but I gave them almost too much and they are burning a bit (I shouldn't have given them anything since the soil was fresh with fertilizer, but purple is in the veins of the fan blades). I'm not losing budding sites but My Here/baby is not that mean green color I know to be healthy. I will up some pics tomorrow. any advice will be greatly appreciated. like I said I know about soil and flourescent, but hydro and turbo charged lights are new to me. I've also got some background noise that sounds like your outside (crickets and frogs n such)and can hear the bugs making there noises. From the outside, it drowns out the sound of the fans, and who knows weather or not it really makes plants happier, but it can't hurt. BTW I'm using a device called "raptitest" to measure fertility/p.h.,light. Mosture don't mean anything to me I can look at my plants a tell when I'm screwing that up. Anyway I won't type anymore until I get some photos out to back me up, and to get some feedback. Like I said I know I've got too much N in my pots right now, but according to the "raptitest" its just barley too much, and that "here" is a madman of a strain, I'm betting that it will eat up the N with minimal burning. I also don't wanna flush it cause there's is more flower power in there than N. Gimme a day I'll get some photos upped, but I got go use a different puter to do it.

thx

Welcome to Gardener's World

Some of us dream of 78 degrees F :stoned:

I wouldn't put much store by the Rapitest - doubtless some hydro-wallahs will be along to recommend something.

Another screw up was my canes on the plants were turning purple, I know thats a means they want N,
if the leaves are getting pale they need nitrogen. purple stems is phosphate or magnesium deficiency afair. check the books.
...and welcome.

edit: the significant difference between hydro and soil is that things happen alot quicker so you've got to stay on top of it until you're used to the rate of growth.

Alrighty, I'm kinda getting fired up about getting this room ready for hydro. Talking with some you guys put a helluva alot of wind in my sails. So hopefully I will have pics for ya'll on Monday. I'm also gonna flush my plants, I'd rather see'em get green than burn any more than they already have. Shoulda know better than to mess around with fresh soil. :)

K.. little update in the album. Currently the plants aren't getting any light cause I decided to go ahead and get the Light rail in. It's about half way complete and by tonight I should be back online again. I have upped photos of the progress, I just wish I would see some improvement in my pots, its only been 48hrs since the flush, but I'm sure I'm beter off for doing it. I'm not gonna re-pot the "SOUR BUBBLE" (was told originally that it was "SOUR APPLE BUBBLE") Sorry for any confusion, but I don't have the luxury of being able to visit my local seed bank. I'm still pretty sure its a rare strain. I will re-pot the suspected Northern Lights tonight, after I get the sun back on, and I will get more photos of the completed Light rail install. Ya'll might not be ohhing and ahhing over this but my flat mates are busting nuts over the design. As Always holler if you guys see something that needs improvment that hasn't already been adressed. In time My babies will recover, and hopefully still yeild me a smiling face for a month or so.......
