Hi All, I just dried my bubblegum but i think it has dried to quick and tastes really harsh. It was dry in 6 days but it is not crispy at all, im growing organic so its not the chemicals,so how do i get rid of the harshness, will the curing process do the job, or is there any other tips you might have? Its a real shame because the buzz is top shelf, and very moorish.......Thanks in advance guys.

I would leave them in fresh air for a week. Then rehydrate with some leaves in a kilner and cure... Then id hope. Sometimes.it takes a whilr for a cure to fix the taste. Thats just me though and id be guessing a fix.

If you haven't cured them properly then they will taste harsh. Get them in an airtight container and see if they damp up again. If they do then they were still damp inside, if not then chuck a few fresh leaves in and seal it back up. The leaves will give moisture and you can start your curing properly.
Thanks to some selfish owls I have passively smoked something that might turn you into a drug-addled psychotic – and not just me but innocent children in Ely too.

Thanks for the quick replys , the bud is not overly dry or what i mean is crispy,i think having the exstractor fan sucking the air out may be to blame but you have no choice unless you want to get nicked. And i did have someone in the flat upstairs say to me people comming in the front door got hit with the smell of weed, but that is when you are manicuring your bud and there again unless you sit inside your tent with it zipped up the place is going to bloody stink. I still dont know how these guys that grow cheese get away with it...I think about another 3 weeks curing will help as its only been 5 days curing so far.

The whole room i have my tent in is neg pressure. About 3.5x4m room. It pulls air in from all gaps and sends it out the roof of gr through filter. I believe i can crop in here and the smell shouldnt escape the room.

Your very lucky then as if i got a fan to do my whole room then it would sound like gatwick airport, but i think the average grower would have the same problems i have unless you live in a detached house. cheers mate

It isnt quiet i can tell you that much. If i was confident and competent with electric i would have a lightswitch by the front door rigged to cut power to that whole room. You can hear it clear as day half way up the stairs. At the front door you could probably hear it if you were listening for it and there was no other sound. If the door to the room was open you would hear it at the front door no problem. That rushing sound noise. People can hear it no problem on the phone when im in there too. Hopefully it will be alright but i should really find a fix for the sound issue.

Yea i know that whooshing noise allright, to be honest every time i have to open my door to anyone i get paranoid as f--k. Im use to the noise but i must admit when i shut the fan down for a few weeks then reboot it up again i think oh shit thats loud. I just hope luck is on my side and i dont get any unwanted attention.....good luck to you.

Stick a dehumidifier or something similarly noisy in sight of your front door.

Whenever someone comes to the door switch the fucker on.

my fan is in a box surrounded in foam, the leepy method, acustic ducting with a 2 ft lenght of plastic ducting just after the cf, i carn't hear shit.i've had to check the outtake before now to check the fan is still running..not sure why its like that,i guess the length of solid ducting gets rid ov the woooshing sound

the plastic ducting was from screwwwfix, they sell different sizes and they all match different ducting sizes 4" to 8" and all under 2 quid per length.

It sounds like it isn't really dry yet. When it is dry, the stems should snap a bit like a dry twig when broken.

Then you cure them, at least 2 weeks imo. 3 months is much better.

Patience is the key, although I know it can be dificult  :yinyang:
