I have a heater, an air stone and the pump on all the time in mine, I use a cap full of formulex and a cap full of root stim and never ph. I always get great results.

ive used formulex before with great results too formulex or ionic hydro grow works for me.

ive always ph ed though but not to add too much ph down so i generally take it to 5.8-6.0

good to know you dont have to ph though,do you ever get yelowing or any deficiencies doing it with no ph adjustments?

Spearzy...I know you keep saying its cos the lid was off 3 hours - please take note the lid was never taken off before this happened - the lid was only taken off because they started to rot.

Anyway guys, thanks for the advice...ive put the aero-prop in corner of veg room - they'll live or die.
Ive took one out and potted it and left it in my bedroom - just a test.

Im not that bothered now cos im gonna concentrate on compost again - my heads getting done in with this aero shit - I thought it was the 'miracle' cure. More like a waste of money.

Ive had this hobby for well over 5 years...never had a problem. never used anything but compost.

Fuck it!!

Anyway, i think after all the advice from the UK420 people my conclusion is that..............

since last year when the winter cold came, I have overprotected them from the cold by keeping them nice and warm in my bedroom but neglected to get them in the veg room asap. It occurred to me today that i used to do the whole process in the veg room - they never left the veg room in fact! they would be cut and in the prop and put in the corner....2 to 3 weeks later they would mostly be ready to pot-up.

Since reading various guides/advice on cuttings etc on 420, ive gradually increased the time they spend without proper light. I didnt even realise!

So i'll be putting all my compost cuts straight in veg room today (covered with mesh for few days).

Anyway guys, I think i now know the problem - LIGHT.

Thanks for the help & advice and i'll let you all know how they go.

Peace n rice

i agree with you there mate lights the main issue

cuttings generally take between about a week to root with propper light.

i think in the corner of your veg room or just a litte bit under the light if you can get them a bit closer and they will root much quicker for you.

todays pics of the aeroprop ones.....

They went in yesterday...tepms 22/23, humidity 75/80, about 3/4 foot away from 400 MH (not under it though)

Attached Image these are the first 2 that went

...so im not holding much hope for any of them...

the one i took out, popped in compost and kept in the bedroom on the side looks ok.

new ones in compost - no change yet - too soon.

OK people, all cuttings doing well... but you knew that!

It was deffo lack of light  and its all good now.

Also wanted to add that im ultra-impressed with the aero-prop :guitar:

Roots starting around 7 days and good to pot up around 10-12 days...im impressed.

That should reduce overall veg time by a few days hopefully.

Maybe i'll go back to compost.... :nope:

Anyway guys, thanks for the tips/help and advice....All is well again.

Peace n rice. :toot: :toot:

Hi Curiositymike. What light are you using, and how far away please? I'm thinking of getting a 12 clone Aero unit soon. Thanks

Hi Van Basten,

Im using 400w MH in my veg room. Got the aeroprop about 3 foot away from it but not underneath it - its on the edge of the room so the light isnt directly beaming into it.

I have to say i didnt like the idea of using it as im not a fan of hydro etc but under the circumstances i had no choice.
I dont think i will go back to putting cuttings in compost anymore...its too good.

I was gonna get a seperate light for it but it does great where it is with the light from the veg room so no extra electric.

Anyway, good luck matey and if you need tips/advice on using it then feel free to post in here cos i got my answers here on how to use it etc.

Peace n buns.
