Easy Owl..Welcome bro

Been doing Hydro for 15+ mate so if i can throw any info in for u, i`d be happy to help mate.

I`m pretty hardcore NFT but my mate runs Ebb and flood pots and loves em and they do seem to love it. He has tried both the IWS and Multiflow and prefers the multiflow. The one thing i can tell you that he went through with his is an issue with the piping. On the first run they were beautiful. Second time around they failed misrably.

It turned out to be the type of pipe that came with it. It was the black bendy hosepipe type 16mm pipe. It kind of like has a spongy liner inside which seems to be porous and foamlike and appeared to be the perfect place for a build up of sludgy organic matter which then proceeds to leach into your tank on the subsequent grow. Pretty much resulting in diseases plants and a total fail! All that was after a really thorough clean and several flushes and drains. He said when he finally starte dismantling it all to find the issue he cut the pipe and i was like slimey and built up like a furred up artery and was clinging to the foamy liner inside it.

Anyway he now uses the normal black plastic piping instead and cos its cheap replaces it every few cycles. Its not as bendy as the hose type and so it limits his ability to move them around as much but its better than the other type.

Peace

Easy tripleB, thank you so much for that reply bro, really good info and exactly the sort of thing i was looking for. Not sure which your friend had but the V2 version has larger diameter pipe and digital timer so think i'm going to opt for it over the IWS.

Do you know why your mate prefers the multiflow..just curious really. I'm trying to find out who makes or ditributes the multiflow systems? Any ideas. I can find plenty of retailers who stock them but i dont know where they get them from...

Nice on e Easy, I'm also using a deep ebb/flow for the first time. I'll make sure to replace the pipes after this one. :smoke:
