I'm looking into building a smaller veg box in the size of 1m width x .60cm depth and 1.2m high.
I am wondering what types of wood to use for the frame and also outer case.
I'm thinking of insulating it also with cellotex?
I'm doing it this wknd and would love some feedback?
I'm going to run 220w PLL 6500k lamps of 55w each in a reflector.
4" vents fan with 4" CF extraction with 2x PC fan for intake, covered with cooker filter.
Cheers.

Getting it air and light tight might be tricky, so pick up some sealant too perhaps.
Or go to the local tip and have a ganders, theres usually a cupboard or chest of draws - one man's waste is another man's treasure!

Yea dude the light tight and air tight is what worries me, but I'm sure if I get it all together as tight as poss, it should do ok. I hope :-)

Hey WM!
Yea I've got a .60 tent in the secret Hardin, which is pretty good and fine but I've got some 1m x .60 trays that I want to use so I'm opting for the 1m width grow box.
Plus I've never had a permanent fixture and always used tents and fancy something DIY that I can add too etc.

It emits formaldehyde for a while after manufacture.
Personally I wouldn't want it anywhere near anything I was going to put inside me (nudge nudge) but I'm probably a bit paranoid about things like that.

The timber yard I got it from and very cheap compared to BnQ, already cut all panels to size, so it's only drill per holes and screw together. Each panel with be lined with diamond foil and a 6" black and white plastic as a waterproof tray stapled into place, instead of using large trays.
Also we're only talking 220w of PLL lamps being used with 4" extract, so very little heat to cook things up.
