just wondering how i should set up my tent as i have just ordered a parabolic instead of the cooltube i was using.

at the moment i have it set up as follows:

filter > fan > cooltube > out of tent

the fan sucks up air through the filter and then pushes it through the cooltube.

is it as simple as just removing the cooltube and having the filter first then the fan sucking up air and pushing it straight out the tent?

try to position the filter above the vents at the top of the parabolic so it will suck the hot air out straight away

I thought a cooltube was used to blow cool air into it, to keep the temps from the bulb cool, allowing the plants to be
closer to the light without burning them! Blowing hot air through it seems to defeat the object imo? :wassnnme:

Basically a Parabolic shade has no ducting attached, you just set up your filter as normal.

filter > fan > ducting > outlet.

:yep:

the hot air still pulls a lot of the heat coming from the bulb away from the glass, or if you get another fan,
you could have ducting into tent, cooltube then more ducting out of the tent to the fan &
have the cf & fan on another bit of ducting going out the tents roof vent.

afaik, the fans do better drawing air through ducting than pushing it. So with a tent I'd go filter as close to tent vent as possible -> ducting as short and as straight as possible -> fan as close to the big bad world as possible.
