Sounds cool that Groovelick.....

Don't see many kestrels round here for some reason... Seen loads hiking in west Wales though, about 15 years ago mind!
We've got shitloadss of buzzards, kites and sparrowhawks though.... Really must go outside with my camera! lol

Anyone else got red kites near them? I think they're awesome... Saw one turn in the air in front of my car a few weeks ago..
could almost see it's muscles tense... I wasn't driving thank fuck...lol (nearly wrote a car off when I was seventeen looking at an owl on a fencepost.... :ouch: )

Smashing thread Iky ...

A fully fledged Peregine about to take that first leap of the cliff. I waited for days but missed the moment.

Taken on my Sony 420 btw.

I know you said new pictures Iky but I have been laid up with a broken leg recently so haven't been out shooting for a while. This one is a barn owl I took just before the accident.

I'm hoping to get out on the weekend so hopefully I'll have some new shots for the thread.

Have always had a thing for the birds :wassnnme: and one of the species I never managed to tick off in my little field guide as a kid were both the Goldcrest and Firecrest, so as you can imagine I was beside myself when I saw this little fella while on a fishing trip, I think it was waiting for an opportunity to nick some bait, though not as cheeky as the chaffinches!

Since then we've got a Goldcrest that visits the garden every now and then, though it's a shy little thing so I think I'm gonna need a bigger lens to get any pics.

Nice thread, I'll add some more when I dig them out/take more!

I have spent hours trying to shoot swallows in flight Iky, not an easy task. Great practice though, as anything else seems like it is hardly moving compared with the swallow.

I nearly stood on this pheasant a couple of weeks ago, it was in stealth mode. I soon discovered why when it all of a sudden took flight and scared the shit out of me :guitar:
