Shouting out "Oi you black," Isn't exactly friendly though, and clearly must mean something.

And it depends on the words before and after too, to give it context.

"You're black." (given that black is the accepted term for people of African ethnic origin) is probably OK.

"You're a fucking black bastard." Isn't. That both use the same word, but the latter, I think you'll agree, is meant as a racial insult.

it may be taken as a racist insult but to be honest calling someone a black bastard is just the same as calling them a bastard. The black bit is irrelevant as it is not a negative attribute and therefore should not be taken offensively. Its like calling someone an English bastard, or a "tall" bastard. It's the bastard bit that matters.

Not sure if I agree with you there.

But I do appear to be leathered again so I'm undoubtedly talking arse (but I'm justifiably proud of the way I can still type when wankered :smug: ).

But bear with me. Bastard on its own is an insult, but bastard attached to another word turns that word into the insult. I don't know anything about grammar, but I'm sure there must be a grammatical term for that

Like any other insult - you bastard, you cunt, you wanker, whatever. That means one thing. But, for example, you stupid bastard, you stupid cunt, you stupid wanker - that means someting totally different. The emphasis is on the stupid, the expletive at the end just adds emphasis to the stupid. You fucking stupid bastard adds more emphasis to the stupid.

Take another example - people call me a pisshead. Fair enough, I am, but it's an insulting term (alcoholic is better :) ). If someone calls me a pisshead bastard, that just means, in my head at least, that they are calling me more of a pisshead than just a pisshead - pisshead bastard > pisshead. And if someone calles me a fucking pisshead bastard that is pretty much as much pisshead insult as you can get - fucking pisshead bastard > pisshead bastars > pisshead. I know black is not the sdame as pisshead, pisshead is an insult in and of itself (even when it's true), but you see how the addition of words make it more of an insult (or in the case of not an insult, make it an insult) ?

Shit, I've explained that really badly lol

lol Some cunt called me foureyes over Christmas, showing off to his mates. I went all Boojum on him lol Can't remember what the fuck I said, was drunk, but do remember him slinking off like a kicked puppy so it must have been a reasonably decent response lol

I come from an Irish background but have this mediteranean typr complexion,I can't tell you how many times I was called a paki when I was younger,it never really upset me too much but it was an education,it made me understand how it feels to be targeted just because of my complexion (especially summertime)and I would compound it with holidays in Spain lol

I think all abuse is in the eye (or feelings) of the receiver,if it upsets you it's serious end of.

I have to say though, and i'm not just trying to be contentious, every black geezer i've spoken to on racism has said to me that everyone is racist to a degree,we can all recognise a difference,it's the bigotry which is unforgivable.

This reminds me of an old mate (english/white) i used to have, he loved sunbeds and was always tanned (he was very vain) any way, we were in this country pub in Somerset in the winter and this guy came up to him and asked him "why don`t you fuck off back to his own country" lol i wasn`t with him at the exact moment but when he returned to our table the look of confusion on his face was fucking priceless lol

Adeyemi needs to man-up stupid cunt cryin to ref, pointing at supporters "he jst called me a nigger" ffs get over it and do what you are payed to do which is play football.

The Idiot philosophy.

There was a time when nobody would or could speak out about this because the state of oppression was so bad. Now people can't say it out loud, which builds even more resentment in the minds of people who think like that in the first place; like they've had their right to speak down to the lower races taken away.

We haven't gone full circle yet. We won't in our lifetime either.

I'm an LFC fan of many years and totally agree with Boojam. I'm mixed race (Asian and White) and I remember all the racism I had to put up with when I went to football matches in the 1980s. It was pretty bad. In recent years this has changed and for the better. It would be terrible for the game if some of this good work, and it's taken years of it, was reversed.

I'm also a woman, and am sick to death of the sexism that still persists in the game and in most sports (I'm a Thai boxer). As Boojam says, homophobia in football is very, very bad.

So here's a ffs for all of you that think the player 'should just get over it': get over your own short-sighted, narrow-minded bigotry and ignorance - you have absolutely no idea about just how damaging it is to be on the receiving end of prejudice and discrimination.

If you are a liverpool fan then you have a duty to educate yourself and not believe everything those fucking shitrags print.

Where are the charges ?

Why did the papers claim it was the fans in wanker hats and Suarez Ts comment that upset the lad ?

Why has it been reported that the crowd started the Suarez chant after the lad got upset ?

Ask yourself how he heard a comment that neither the stewards or the Police officer sat next the the lad heard ?

If it is proven then the lad in question will get his,not because of the papers or the Suarez incident but because that's the clubs policy.

Problem with your high horse is you'll continually fall off it.
Nearly everyone knows it's like to be ganged up on and bullied about something you can't change.

Or did you grow up in a palace?
....at the third toke, it will be fucked o' clock, precisely

You can't compare day to day struggles with those of people from minority communities with regards to racism and discrimination. It's not high horse it's just a statement of fact. I don't think she was referring to Suarez or anyone else in particular, she said she's a woman from a mixed race background. You can't compare day to day life for the average white guy to someone of a different skin colour because even though we've come a fair way from 20 years ago, they still get a lot of shit.

I can compare what I like, maybe you can't.

So if a white person gets bullied it's just not as bad, somehow, because it's even-ing up a score?

If a kid gets moved to a different city and gets serious ball ache trying to fit in to a new school, new accent etc they can't understand how bad it is to be picked on racially, if they're white?

There's nothing special about racism. It's just more common than most other rejection.

Papa needs to try walking through Manningham and see if he feels the same way,Nun may well have never experienced racism (I don't know) but you cannot claim a person cannot relate or compare just because they are White.

And all this is ignoring the fact that No charges have been brought and also ignoring the fact that young Adeyemi must be somewhat related to batfink if he heard what not one single person in the area heard. The lad was 8yrds out (not including the side of ther pitch) when he reacted, the steward and Police were withing spitting distance and heard nothing like 'Black Bastard' has they then he would've been arrested charged and already have been to court.
