Pretty much "get over it", right?
Maybe "try not to let it bother you" thrown in if you're lucky. ;)

Woke up today with constant ringing in my right ear. I was hoping it'd have gone away by now, but nope, and all I've been thinking is "damn, some people have to live with this 24/7?".
Probably caused by 1 of 2 things. Either as one of the myriad of knock-on symptoms from hayfever, except I'd've expected that to affect my left ear too.
The other possibility is how I was sleeping last night. Woke up at 5:20 to find one of my pillows behind me, and the other one on the floor, and I was probably sleeping with the right side of my head squashed to the bed with no cushioning. The area around my ear also feels quite tight.
Either way, hopefully temporary. There's no way I want to be in the same boat as you lot, I like music too much, and I've spent half a year planning out a custom guitar build down to a tee with tone in mind, I don't want to not be able to fully appreciate it when I finally get it.
Good luck to all of you. Today's been a total bitch.

Evening tokers!

Its been a couple of weeks now since having the hearings aids on and first impressions are: i never realised i couldn't hear so much!!

I mean im shocked at how much and how well im hearing things, the Mrs was just saying to me how ive not misheard her or not heard here at all from another room for a while, it really is like having bionic hearing although ive not had chance to listen in on next doors on the job yet, ill have to pop round and tell him to pull his finger out lol!

As for the tinnitus... well its hard to say ATM but there's a definate advantage to wearing these, i've not had an " attack" since i've had them in which has been fucking great.
The left aid recently got blocked with some wax, a tiny bit, and i thought it was broke as ive jumped in the shower a couple of times with them still in as you don't notice them at all, turned out id not cleaned it properly and for the few days it wasn't working i really noticed the ringing in the background!

Im not sure if some of this is a mental state but when there not it, which is usually 30 min before i go asleep the volume of the ringing really does increase, but its early days and im back in a few weeks for some tests and a tuning so we'll see what she makes of it.

With the erb... definatly making a difference with the aids, there's been a couple of occasions where i've actually listened for it when i've been baked and struggled to hear any ringing, again i'm not sure if its in my head or not but some things have definatly changed man, but again, its early days.

So all in all i think the progress is good and there is positive changes but by no means at the moment am i " cured" because as im typing this my left ear is ringing like a fucking church bell!!

I've always found the same thing. I can go much of the day without really noticing it and then as things get quiet and I start to wind down before sleep the volume seems to go up.

I've not used the herb since I got tinnitus, but when I did I used to seem like I could feel my nerves pulsing - from that I always thought the effects of the herb might make the ringing worse, but if what you say is true I'm going to have to give it a try some time when the noise is getting to me. I'll let you know how it goes...

...not that I have any to try. :(

Good Luck with this dude, I hope it works out for you. I've had problems with my ears in the past, had surgery on my right one as a teenager and I occasionally get an 'attack' of tinnitus but they only last for a few seconds or minutes at the most. It's interesting to see if this works consistently, gives me hope for me. I've read before that herb can help too. I hope that it keeps giving you relief.

@ stevie rays: I also think that there is a relation. got my upper right wisdom tooth removed three weeks ago, and I always heard a strange clicking noise in my right ear when it was exposed to a signal louder than the average talking. :ouch:
since it's been removed.. no strange clicking anymore. that felt quite uncomfortable, and especially for me as a musician that was a big issue.

now I can really enjoy my studio monitores :yahoo:

Hows evev

Thats interesting to know.

Dentist offered to take it out if it gets annoying as it get a bit swelly as gum has a lip where it is coming through. Is still only half way out after 24 odd months.

I may get him to remove as at least i will know then, as long as it don't make it worse!

Wisdom tooth came out today not something i want to go through again i might add.

Will update if its sorts the distortion problem out, well will update whatever in the future.

Hows peeps hears holding up, any solutions to tinnitus yet?? :guitar:

Other than "don't get it" and "wear earplugs if you're going to be somewhere loud"... not so much.

In my experience with medication, treatment physio etc, weed is the perfect thing to mix it with. I hope it continues to benefit your life, as it does to many more here.

Just thought I would check in and see how things are going?

Can you tell me what the name of the course of therapy is that you're on? Thinking about speaking to my GP about it.

Nice one
