Man in court accused of possessing more than £500,000 worth of cannabis
Haul believed to be largest seized in Lothian and Borders.
A man has been accused of possessing more than £500,000 worth of cannabis.
Gary Weir, 38, appeared from custody on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court on Saturday.
He made no plea or declaration to a charge of supplying cannabis resin.
Mr Weir, from Whitburn, West Lothian, was refused bail and remanded in custody pending full committal for trial next week.
The drugs, estimated to be worth £575,000, were allegedly found in a van which he was driving on Friday.
The drugs bust is believed to be the largest haul of cannabis ever seized by Lothian and Borders Police.
