so put pots in tray water well with watering can and they wont drown. sounds good to me.

also i have a 250cfl about 4 inches above them with a fan blowing across the room and the ducting vents kind of open. is this enough for now as temps are around 21degress with light on 24/7.
i opened a brand new grasslin timer and it worked one day and now its not working
anyways when should i install the rvk extraction fan and turn it on?

im gonna install it but i meant when do you turn it on after germinating perhaps 2 or 3 weeks? i know you decrease temps by higher extraction but dow do you increase temps?
need to go water can shopping and a new timer tomorrow. where did you buy your haws one from? your right im gona let them dry out a little now and just water them once every 24 hrs..i watered them twice today

Hi compostverte
thanks for poppin in to comment mate. i have seen you mostly newbie posts always helpin everyone so i'll mark your advice for next time.
will i suffer much with the root riots goin straight into 1.5L pots? i did remember to sprinkle some PM granules around the root riot cubes before potting them..
hope that compensates a little for my error. you learn from your mistakes i will try your way next round hopefully.

What size are root riots ? - a little under 7cm ?
My first repotting into 1 litre pots was always done at 2 weeks from sticking the un-prepared seed in the compost - on a Saturday - for my own convenience, and was usually a bit early .. but they soon get going

Yea i hope so. think a couple have burnt leaf (only have two tiny leaves) hope they survive i promise to make it upto them
i tried potting two direct into soil mate nothin happened so i tried the prop and got 100% germ almost and put them in the pots a day later.
when do you turn your extraction on then a few weeks after the seedlings have developed a bit and start vegg'ing?

Mine is totally inadequate, so I'm one of the least expert about that (will be fixing it for my next grow) ..but I don't believe it matters until they're really filling-up the space - especially with all the fussing with them we inevitably do.
Growing in winter, I rely on convection in the early stages. My house is so cold, I use a PVC tent inside the cupboard with bottom heat and an opening at the top.
It's good to have some air movement though .. I use a small computer fan under the lamp.

as compostverte say's you dont need the extraction yet i only use a pc fan in my veg cupboard for extraction but if you have a fan you might as well fit it and if it's cooling to much you can turn it off but it's not just for controlling temp's its giving your plant's fresh air as well which you will need for flowering especially
you can get your watering can from e bay but dont water them every day ! let them dry out a bit then when the pot's are getting light water till run off then wait till there getting light again defo not every day if you have just put them in 1.5l pot's it should be at least a couple of day's if not more between watering's that why you need to get used to the weight of the pot after watering then you know when to water again
i hope that make's sense if your not sure about anything just ask there's plenty of folk on here willing to help and most of them are better than me at explaining thing's
