Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice. Starting a couple of autos in a greenhouse. Using JAB with JI with some vermiculite to start them off. The preference seems to be perlite on here, but already have the vermiculite and it does the same thing, doesnt it?

Dont plan on feeding them anything but water initially. When and what would be the choice of feed? Or will the JAB suffice?

Strain is Afghan Kush Ryder. Seemed to be the most hardy, stealthy plant for a low level NW UK grow. Mate of mine is starting the purple cheese auto at the same time. Going to use the same set up.

Will try and keep a diary on here for your enjoyment and further advice if necessary.

Thanks in advance.

Saw that on the weather yesterday. Only potted them today. Theyre going to stay indoors for the first week or so after theyve sprouted. I'll harden them off over the course of the second week and phase them outdoors gradually. Cheers for the shout. Who'd have thought snow after last week!?!!

1 min it's sunny, then it's snow and then it's rain. I doubt any will happen in the north apart from low temps and lots of rain.
I've had autos and regs out for 2 weeks and they love it, albeit in a polytunnel and within that a smaller feleece area if temps drop below 0

Get them outside on sunny times, but be prepared to bring them in at anytime. Windowsill growing will result in very small plants, so get a light, even if it's some 20w cfls 1" above them. Better than the light well get the next couple weeks on bad days.

Update. Had one or two mishaps very early on. Knocked one over and snapped it. The second took ages to pop up and didnt really go any further than the first two leaves and ended up with a very fat stem. Unfortunately I called time on him. I had one seed left which is doing well, only about 2 weeks old.

I also got 2 more types after I put my originals in to germ. 2/3 have been successful and are probably about 4 weeks old. I moved them outside 2 weeks ago. Light has been pretty poor, lots of cloud and rain and Ive put them under a flourescent for a couple of hours each day to help them along.

Auto Purple cheese fem
Auto Grass o matic AK fem

I also didnt note which was which properly and think Ive muddled them up. Seems to be a similarity to between the 2 pairs. So once it gets bit further along, we should know

Both are about 4in tall and all seems to be in order. I will get some pics up.

No nutes yet and not seen any sign of flowering. Still in relatively small pots, no sign of any roots protruding. Due to the stealth element, I'll have to keep them in similar size pots to my tomatoes that are in there also, for now. Forgot to put window cleaners in to the equation, round the back of the house. Still well concealed, in amongst the other stuff, so not too concerned. This is very much a low level, simplified grow. I'm not expecting a great deal, but hope to pleasantly surprised.
