Hi Hydrolab and welcome to the site,

just a quick question do you make a tent where you can flower in one side and veg in the other so there would be two lightproof rooms in one tent complete with holes for ventilation in either side?

A tent like this would be very useful in winter months where you could always have a light on in either side keeping the temperature of the tent nice and warm,as I know folk struggle when the lights are turned off allowing the tent to get cold especially when you have air intake and extraction

if you don't do a tent like this is it something you would consider?

I would think there would be a market for small,medium and large tents of this kind.

I've been thinking about looking for a tent like this too, it would save a lot of space and hassle. Just a single zip in sheet to separate the two sides would be best so that the tent could be used for a full grow when needed?

i think its only a matter of time before somebody deos one of these, theres already the dr90 which has a seperate compartment on top but it would be better if hydrolab made one as you say side by side as i think the hydrolab tents are alot better than the others in terms of quality, size range and inlet/outlet holes are alot better than the rest

Hi everyone,

This concept is something that's been discussed here at Hydrolab a number times, but got put on the back burner because of development work for the 6 new additional grow tent sizes we've got coming out Mid-Jan 2012. However, come the beginning of next year I have a feeling we will revisit it once again - so watch this space!

If anyone has strong feeling about the kind of sizes you would like to see for this type of tent then please let us know and we'll sit up and take note.

i quite like the format that Homebox use with the modular range, but using 1m2 modules instead

Id like to see a double skinned tent with built in heating cables say 3/4 of the tent height, it would solve the heat issue, bit like a electric blanket concept. Only snag would be melting but I'm sure there's cable and a liner material that would be safe. Or a small side chamber built in enough to hold a rad or tube heaters. Heat exchange would be a lot better as the heater would be enclosed and not sat at a intake where a fan is needed and a lot of heat lost in ambient temps. The neg pressure from the tent would be enough to pull the heat from the chamber via a vent, no light leaks as well.

how about being able to put it on its side, ad the said zipped sheeting in the middle...... viola, CFL or micro-growers haven the LAB110XL for example would be ideal for the kind of growing i have experience with, so maybe a 80(w)x65(d)x110(h) tent alone (or something similar, i was just stating the dimentions if this tent was on its side and giving you 2 sections

That would be good Cantthinkofausername, maybe a metre tall 6 foot long. Or just put two doors on the front and a fixed panel in the centre.

It's all good stuff people and it certainly gives us food for thought. I like the idea of modular system like Flickthebean suggests or at least a central wall that could be attached at a number of different points within the tent.

For someone like me it would all need to be contained it 1 to 1.2m

A small 30cm width veg portion in the tent that I could access via side,a shelf system that would allow me to hang a small veg light and store a ballast out of harms reach. Side panel access and being vented via the main chamber.

Main flowering chamber front and other side access. This would allow use dirty scroggers a fighting chance at trimming.

I would imagine all this could be easily light proofed as indeed it would be modular, Zip on extension!
